Worlds 2026 Swiss stage schedule: Round 1 on 23 October from 17:00 UTC — Gen.G vs IG first, Karmine Corp at 20:00, T1 vs LOS at 23:00

Riot has published the Round 1 running order for the Worlds 2026 Swiss stage: eight best-of-ones on Friday 23 October, one slot per hour from 17:00 UTC (10 am PT, 7 pm CEST), opening with Gen.G vs Invictus Gaming and closing with Team Secret Whales vs LYON at 00:00 UTC. Karmine Corp meet Anyone's Legend at 20:00 UTC, G2 face Dplus KIA at 21:00 and T1 play LOS at 23:00. LoL Esports also corrected its bracket graphic: in Round 3 the 2–0 and 0–2 matches are best-of-three and the 1–1 matches best-of-one. Ranked is untouched — the ladder gets 26.21 on 21 October while the stage stays on 26.20.

  • Round 1, Friday 23 October, all best-of-one (LoL Esports schedule graphic, 19 October): Gen.G vs Invictus Gaming 17:00 UTC (10 am PT / 7 pm CEST), Hanwha Life vs Top Esports 18:00, Bilibili Gaming vs Movistar KOI 19:00, Anyone's Legend vs Karmine Corp 20:00, G2 Esports vs Dplus KIA 21:00, Team Liquid vs CTBC Flying Oyster 22:00, LOS vs T1 23:00, Team Secret Whales vs LYON 00:00 UTC on 24 October.
  • The hour slots are scheduled starts on the official schedule, not guaranteed times: a best-of-one plus the desk segments around it can overrun, so the later matches may begin late. lolesports.com shows the same eight slots in your own time zone.
  • Format correction from LoL Esports (19 October, 01:57 UTC): the post-draw bracket graphic had the Round 3 series lengths wrong — the 2–0 and 0–2 matches are best-of-three, the 1–1 matches best-of-one. Rounds 1 and 2 are best-of-ones and Rounds 4 and 5 best-of-threes, as listed on the LoL Esports schedule.
  • The rest of the stage on the LoL Esports schedule: Round 2 on 24 October from 17:00 UTC, Round 3 over 25–26 October from 17:00 UTC, Round 4 over 28–30 October from 20:00 UTC, Round 5 on 31 October from 17:00 UTC; quarterfinals 3–6 November, semifinals 7–8 November, final 14 November in Brooklyn. Europe leaves summer time on 25 October, so a 17:00 UTC start is 7 pm CEST in Rounds 1–2 and 6 pm CET from Round 3.
  • Nothing changes for your climb: Worlds stays on patch 26.20 while ranked gets 26.21 on 21 October; Champions Queue runs nightly 03:00–06:00 UTC through the Swiss stage; Swiss-stage Pick'Em picks lock on 23 October.

The Round 1 running order

Riot posted the Round 1 schedule on the evening of 19 October, a day after the draw. All eight matches are best-of-ones on Friday 23 October, one slot per hour from 17:00 UTC — 10 am in Los Angeles, 7 pm in Paris and Berlin, 2 am on Saturday in Seoul.

  • 17:00 UTC — Gen.G vs Invictus Gaming
  • 18:00 UTC — Hanwha Life Esports vs Top Esports
  • 19:00 UTC — Bilibili Gaming vs Movistar KOI
  • 20:00 UTC — Anyone's Legend vs Karmine Corp
  • 21:00 UTC — G2 Esports vs Dplus KIA
  • 22:00 UTC — Team Liquid vs CTBC Flying Oyster
  • 23:00 UTC — LOS vs T1
  • 00:00 UTC (24 October) — Team Secret Whales vs LYON

Read the hours as scheduled starts rather than exact ones. One game plus the analyst desk and the break between series does not always fit into sixty minutes, so the late matches — LOS vs T1 and Team Secret Whales vs LYON — can begin later than listed. lolesports.com carries the same eight slots converted to your time zone.

Riot's format correction

The bracket graphic LoL Esports posted after the draw marked the Round 3 series lengths wrongly, and the account corrected it early on 19 October: teams on 2–0 play a best-of-three for a knockout place, teams on 0–2 play a best-of-three to stay in, and the 1–1 matches are best-of-ones. The official schedule confirms the rest of the shape — Rounds 1 and 2 are all best-of-ones, Rounds 4 and 5 all best-of-threes.

The rest of the Swiss stage

Round 2 follows on Saturday 24 October with eight more best-of-ones from 17:00 UTC, paired by Round 1 record. Round 3 is split over Sunday 25 and Monday 26 October from 17:00 UTC, with two best-of-ones and two best-of-threes a day. Round 4 runs from Wednesday 28 to Friday 30 October with two best-of-threes a day from 20:00 UTC, and Round 5 closes the stage on Saturday 31 October with three best-of-threes from 17:00 UTC. The eight qualifiers go into the quarterfinals from 3 to 6 November, the semifinals are on 7 and 8 November and the final is on 14 November in Brooklyn. Europe leaves summer time on 25 October, so a 17:00 UTC start is 7 pm CEST in Rounds 1 and 2 and 6 pm CET from Round 3 onwards.

What it means for your climb

  • Nothing moves on the ladder: Worlds stays on patch 26.20, and ranked gets 26.21 on Wednesday 21 October, two days before Round 1, so the stage meta sits one patch behind your games.
  • Champions Queue runs nightly from 03:00 to 06:00 UTC through the Swiss stage, so the pro solo-queue streams are back during the week.
  • Swiss-stage Pick'Em picks lock on 23 October.
  • The Play-In results, the pools and the full Round 1 draw are in our 18 October item; we will add the Round 1 results here on the night of 23 October.

League of Legends patch 26.20 is live

Patch 26.20 went live on 7 October as the Worlds patch: pro staples Ambessa and K'Sante are nerfed, a long list of fringe picks (Kennen, Kindred, Swain, Smolder, Neeko, Mordekaiser, Lucian, Vayne, Tahm Kench) gets buffs, and Hextech Rocketbelt, Runaan's Hurricane and Experimental Hexplate are trimmed. The private-replay change written into these notes was pulled on patch day and pushed to 26.21, while Ranked 5s queue windows now run 4 pm to 4 am server time. For your climb it is a quiet patch on the Rift, targeted tuning rather than a meta shake-up, and it runs until patch 26.21 on 21 October.

Riot winds down League Classic: free Act II pass from 20 October, run ends 6 January 2027

Riot's Meddler and Pabro have confirmed in a /dev post that League Classic ends its current run with Season 3: the mode stays playable until 6 January 2027 and then goes back in the box, with a possible return later as an event mode. From patch 26.21 the Act II Classic Pass is free with a single track, the Classic store keeps only champions, runes and rune pages, and several lower-population regions move to windowed queues. Ranked on the main client is untouched — this only changes how long and where you can play Classic.

Patch 26.21 full preview: Yasuo spared, Lee Sin and Caitlyn trimmed, Varus and Locke reworked

Riot's lead gameplay designer Phroxzon has posted the full 26.21 preview with numbers, a week before the patch ships on 21 October. Against Monday's list the Yasuo nerf is gone (Yone is cut instead because he ranks far higher on Riot's frustration surveys); the rest is the end-of-season stabilisation pass: Lee Sin, Caitlyn, Jinx, Qiyana, Nidalee, Rammus, Tristana, Viktor and Wukong lose power, while Azir, Ryze, Orianna, Darius, Sion and other pro-suppressed picks get some back.
