About Overwatch Placement Matches
Placement Matches play the ten Competitive games that give a role its rank — on a new role or account, or after one of Blizzard's rank resets. Order only the games you have left, priced by the rank you held last season, and a Grandmaster+ booster plays them in the role you pick.
Piloted appear-offline, or duo on your own account with the booster in your group.
What's included
- 1 to 10 placement matches in the role you pick
- Priced by your rank last season — Bronze if the role is new
- Piloted (appear offline, VPN to your region) or duo on your own account
- Screenshot after every game, private chat, proof before payout
Requirements
- An Overwatch account on PC (Battle.net or Steam) with Competitive unlocked — 50 wins since May 2026, on the region you pick.
- Piloted: you share your Battle.net login after checkout — encrypted, never shown, deleted when the order closes. Approve the first sign-in with the Battle.net Authenticator or the e-mail code Blizzard sends.
- Self-play: no login needed — you play on your own account.

How Overwatch placement matches work
Pick the role, the rank you held last season and the number of games you have left. After checkout a verified Grandmaster+ booster claims the order, plays appear-offline with a VPN to your region (or with you, if you pick duo), posts a screenshot after every game and chats with you in the order. You approve once it's done — only then is the booster paid, and you have 72 hours to check.
After placements
Placements give the role a rank; from there it moves after every match. If it lands below where you want it, a rank boost takes it the rest of the way, or net wins add a fixed push at a price per win.
FAQ
When does Overwatch ask for placements?
On a role you've never played in Competitive, and for every role after a rank reset — Blizzard resets about every three seasons (a full reset on 10 February 2026, a redistribution for Emerald on 11 August 2026). Each role needs ten matches.
Where will I place?
Overwatch places you from your hidden rating, so strong placements start you higher. A rank boost from where you land takes you the rest of the way.
Do placements count for every role?
No — each role queue places on its own. Tank, Damage, Support and Open Queue each need their own ten matches, so order placements for the role you pick; your other roles don't change.
