Game Changers Championship 2026: KRÜ Blaze beat Gentle Mates GC 3–2 in São Paulo after a lower-bracket run — tok1o MVP, Shopify Rebellion Gold third

VISA KRÜ Blaze won the VALORANT Game Changers Championship 2026 on 1 November, beating Gentle Mates GC 3–2 in the grand final at the Riot Games Arena São Paulo after losing their upper-bracket semi-final and winning three lower-bracket series to get back. tok1o was named tournament MVP. Nothing changes in your ranked queue — the event was played on an older tournament patch, so Hush was not in the server — but the decider shows how a KAY/O, Sova and Omen core with a Jett and a Vyse is being played on Ascent while Act VI runs to 5 January 2027.

  • Where it is: the Game Changers Championship 2026 ran 22 October – 1 November at the Riot Games Arena São Paulo, with ten teams in a double-elimination bracket and best-of-fives for the lower final and the grand final; Riot billed it as the final standalone Game Changers Championship.
  • Grand final (1 November, from 18:00 UTC): Gentle Mates GC 2–3 KRÜ Blaze — Haven 13–5 Gentle Mates, Abyss 13–5 KRÜ, Sunset 14–12 KRÜ in overtime, Split 13–8 Gentle Mates, Ascent 13–8 KRÜ (map scores via Liquipedia). KRÜ were champions at 22:41 UTC.
  • KRÜ’s path: 2–1 Gen.G GC, then 0–2 to Shopify Rebellion Gold in the upper semi-final, then 2–0 Team Liquid, 2–0 MIBR and 3–1 Shopify Rebellion Gold in the lower final. Gentle Mates GC reached the final unbeaten in their first championship (2–0 Team Liquid, 2–0 MIBR, 2–1 Shopify Rebellion Gold).
  • MVP tok1o (Vyse on the decider, 17/10/5); nonee led the series with 21 first kills and antG’s KAY/O went 21/13/9 on Ascent. Final placings: KRÜ Blaze, Gentle Mates GC, Shopify Rebellion Gold, MIBR GC — $180,000 / $100,000 / $70,000 / $50,000 of a $500,000 pool per Liquipedia.
  • What it means for your rank: nothing mechanical — no RR, MMR, map-pool or agent change comes from an esports event. The tournament patch was 13.06 per Liquipedia, so Hush was not playable; the comps to copy are the final’s KAY/O + Sova + Omen core with a Jett and a Vyse on Ascent.
  • What we are watching: Riot’s patch 13.10 (our estimate: around 10 November on the two-week cadence — not announced), Act VI’s end on 5 January 2027 (confirmed), Hush pick and win rates once Riot publishes them, and Riot’s plan for Game Changers inside the 2027 Champions Tour.

How the final went

The grand final started at 18:00 UTC (3 pm in São Paulo) on 1 November, day ten of the championship. Gentle Mates GC, unbeaten through the upper bracket, took Haven 13–5. KRÜ Blaze answered 13–5 on Abyss and then won Sunset 14–12 in overtime: KRÜ led 10–2 at the half, Gentle Mates won ten of the twelve second-half rounds to tie it at 12–12, and KRÜ took both overtime rounds. Gentle Mates levelled the series on Split 13–8; KRÜ closed the decider on Ascent 13–8 after a 7–5 first half. The champions post went up at 22:41 UTC and tok1o was named MVP twelve minutes later.

The bracket

  • KRÜ Blaze: 2–1 Gen.G GC, 0–2 Shopify Rebellion Gold (upper semi-final), 2–0 Team Liquid, 2–0 MIBR, 3–1 Shopify Rebellion Gold (lower final), 3–2 Gentle Mates GC.
  • Gentle Mates GC: 2–0 Team Liquid, 2–0 MIBR, 2–1 Shopify Rebellion Gold (upper final), 2–3 KRÜ Blaze — a run to the final in their first championship.
  • Third Shopify Rebellion Gold, fourth MIBR GC. Team Liquid, the 2025 champions from Seoul, went out in the lower bracket to KRÜ. Prize split per Liquipedia: $180,000, $100,000, $70,000 and $50,000 of a $500,000 pool.

The numbers

  • Over five maps KRÜ won the first-kill battle 56–48. nonee took 21 first kills (82/80/20), tok1o finished 84/72/14 with 150 ADR, and antG went 79/74/37 with 82.7 % KAST. For Gentle Mates, wens led with 81/67/15 (214 ACS), safiaa 76/71/28 and berryx 15 first kills.
  • The decider on Ascent ran 45 minutes: antG’s KAY/O 21/13/9 (282 ACS), nonee’s Jett 19/12/3 and tok1o’s Vyse 17/10/5 against safiaa’s Sova 18/15/4. Comps: KRÜ KAY/O, Jett, Vyse, Sova, Omen; Gentle Mates Sova, Neon, Phoenix, Cypher, Omen (per Liquipedia’s match page).

What it means for your climb

  • Nothing in ranked changes: an esports result brings no RR, MMR, map-pool or agent change. Act VI runs to 5 January 2027.
  • The event was played on an older tournament patch (13.06 per Liquipedia), so Hush was not in the server — do not read the pro comps as a verdict on the new agent.
  • The Ascent decider shows a KAY/O + Sova + Omen core with a Jett and a Vyse: a workable ranked template when nobody wants Hush.
  • Sunset swung 10–2 one way and 10–2 the other after the side switch — plan the second half as a new game, not a continuation.

What we are watching

Riot’s patch 13.10 is our estimate for around 10 November on the two-week cadence — Riot has not announced it. We are also watching for Hush pick and win rates once Riot publishes them, for the end of Act VI on 5 January 2027, and for Riot’s plan for Game Changers inside the 2027 Champions Tour, after it billed São Paulo as the final standalone Game Changers Championship.
