WARDOGS Season 3 brought forward to 12 November — BULKHEAD's Joe Brammer names the date in a Steam developer response, with Limited Mode servers and a proper fresh start
BULKHEAD has put a day on the WARDOGS wipe: Season 3 has been brought forward to 12 November — a Thursday, four weeks after Season 2 went live — Joe Brammer wrote on 23 October in a developer response under a Steam review. He repeats that Season 2's sped-up progression was the wrong call, with some players in Tier 4 armour and main battle tanks within days, so the reset never landed, and says the new season brings Limited Mode servers with no power weapons and no vehicles. There is no Steam announcement or @WARDOGS post with the date yet; the dev vlog due this week should make it formal.
- Where it is: a developer response by Joe Brammer (brammflakes, BULKHEAD) under a negative Steam review of WARDOGS, dated 23 October 15:36 UTC — not a Steam announcement and not an @WARDOGS post; Shacknews and PCGamesN picked it up on 25 October.
- The date: Season 3 starts on Thursday 12 November 2026, exactly four weeks after Season 2 went live on 15 October — the four-or-five-week window Brammer gave in The Hotzone podcast on 24 October, instead of the six to eight weeks first planned.
- Why: Brammer again calls Season 2's sped-up progression the wrong call — some players reached Tier 4 armour and main battle tanks within days, so the wipe never really landed — and says 12 November gives everyone a proper fresh start.
- What comes with it: Limited Mode servers with no power weapons and no vehicles, the limited-gear servers described in the podcast; on level-locked gear and on how wipes treat players who cannot play every day there is no fuller answer yet — it has been passed to the team.
- What it means for your climb: Season 2 has 17 days left, so a role level or cash balance you build now is for use before 12 November — under the wipe rules BULKHEAD set out in its Road to Season 2 devlog, progression and cash reset while Gold Bars and cosmetics stay; Season 3's first week is where an early start pays off most.
- What we are watching: a Steam announcement or @WARDOGS post making the date official, the dev vlog promised for this week (Season 2 reflection, Season 3 preview), a maintenance window for 12 November, written rules on what resets, and whether Limited Mode servers are there on day one. Until BULKHEAD posts it formally we carry the date as Brammer stated it, not as an announced schedule.
What Brammer wrote
On 23 October, under a long negative Steam review that described WARDOGS as a game with Tarkov syndrome — matches decided by who has ground the most hours rather than by who plays better — BULKHEAD's Joe Brammer replied from the studio's developer account. He accepted the description, took part of the blame, and gave the date the studio had avoided for a week: Season 3 has been brought forward to 12 November. It is the first time BULKHEAD has put a day on the earlier Season 3 it floated on 17 October, and because it came in a review reply rather than a Steam post it took two days for the press to notice; the podcast published on 24 October still spoke of four or five weeks without naming a day.
Why the season is being cut short
The reasoning is the one BULKHEAD gave on launch weekend and again in The Hotzone: Season 2's progression was deliberately faster, and that was the wrong call. Some players reached Tier 4 armour and main battle tanks within days, so the reset that was supposed to give everyone a fresh start never really landed, and the studio would rather wipe again soon than let the season run the six to eight weeks first planned. 12 November is four weeks to the day after Season 2 went live on 15 October, at the short end of the four-or-five-week window from the podcast.
What Season 3 brings
- A proper fresh start — the wipe BULKHEAD says Season 2 failed to deliver.
- Limited Mode servers with no power weapons and no vehicles — the limited-gear servers the podcast described as a way to recreate the low-to-mid game for players who find the gear curve the problem.
- No fuller answer yet on level-locked gear, or on how wipes treat players who cannot play every day; Brammer says both have been passed to the team.
- The longer-term plan from the podcast — roughly three-month seasons with a smaller update halfway through — is meant to start once this shorter season is out of the way.
What it means for your climb
- Season 2 now has a known end. Anything you unlock or earn between now and 12 November is for the next 17 days, unless it carries over: under the wipe rules in BULKHEAD's Road to Season 2 devlog, progression and cash reset, cash is converted to Gold Bars, and Gold Bars and cosmetics stay.
- If you want a role at a high level or a vehicle unlocked for the rest of Season 2, the useful window is now; a levelling order placed in the last days before the wipe buys very little play time.
- Season 3 is where the three-month cadence is meant to begin, so the first week after 12 November is the one where an early start compounds; Limited Mode servers will be a separate place to play the low-gear game without a grind.
- Nothing is wiped before 12 November: the 17 October line that there would be no reset mid-season still stands.
What we are watching
A Steam announcement or an @WARDOGS post that makes 12 November official and gives a maintenance window; the dev vlog BULKHEAD promised for the week of 26 October with the Season 3 preview; written rules on what resets and what carries over; and whether Limited Mode servers are available on day one. Until the studio posts it formally we carry the date as Brammer stated it on 23 October, not as an announced schedule.
