How many Competitive Points will you have?
+3 a win · +1 a draw · +1 a loss — every 30 pays 100 CP
The maths 30 wins × 10 + 1 draw × 5 + 3 meter fills × 100 = 605 CP this season.
10 Competitive Points a win, 5 a draw and the progression meter (+3 a win, +1 a draw or loss, 100 CP for every 30) are Blizzard's rules from 13 February 2024; we found no later change in Blizzard's patch notes, though they haven't been restated in 2026. The weapon price and the 30-fill cap are community figures. The plan spreads the meter's 100 CP evenly over its 30 progress, so it is an average, and it leaves out Team Drives events (their CP vary by event), the New / Reworked map bonus for future games and Stadium.
How Competitive Points work
You earn 10 Competitive Points for a win, 5 for a draw and none for a loss in Competitive Role Queue or Open Queue. Every match also fills the Competitive Progression meter: 3 progress for a win, 1 for a draw or a loss, and each time it reaches 30 you get 100 more CP. Blizzard set both on 13 February 2024, when the meter replaced the old end-of-season CP challenges. Community sources say the meter stops paying after 30 fills (3,000 CP); Blizzard's notes don't say so, which is why the cap is a switch above.
Since 14 April 2026, matches on maps tagged New or Reworked give an automatic +10 Competitive Points; Team Drives events hand out CP as well. At the end of each competitive year your unspent CP become Legacy Competitive Points — all 2025 points were converted on 10 February 2026 — and Legacy CP buy the older weapon variants. The 2026 variant, Crimson Wolf, unlocks for CP after the first two weeks of a season. Community sources put a weapon variant at 3,000 CP; check the price in game before you plan around it.
What each result is worth
| Result | Competitive Points | Meter progress | With the meter bonus spread out |
|---|---|---|---|
| Win | 10 | +3 | about 20 CP |
| Draw | 5 | +1 | about 8.33 CP |
| Loss | 0 | +1 | about 3.33 CP |
The meter pays 100 CP for 30 progress — about 3.33 CP a progress point, until the community cap.

FAQ
Common questions
How many Competitive Points do you get per win in Overwatch?
10 per win, 5 per draw and none for a loss, per Blizzard. Every match also fills the Competitive Progression meter — 3 progress for a win, 1 for a draw or a loss — and each time it reaches 30 you get 100 more CP. Counted together, a win is worth about 20 CP, a draw about 8.3 and a loss about 3.3.
How many games does a 3,000-CP weapon take?
About 258 games from zero at a 50% win rate with no draws: 11.67 CP a game on average, meter bonus included. 3,000 CP is the community figure for a weapon variant — Blizzard's notes we read don't print the price — so check the in-game shop before you plan around it.
Is there a limit on the bonus Competitive Points?
Community sources say the progression meter stops paying after 30 fills, which is 3,000 CP. Blizzard hasn't confirmed that in the notes we read, so the calculator lets you switch the cap off.
What happens to unspent Competitive Points?
They stay yours. At the end of each competitive year Blizzard turns them into Legacy Competitive Points, which buy the older weapon variants (all 2025 points were converted on 10 February 2026). The 2026 variant, Crimson Wolf, unlocks for CP after the first two weeks of a season.
