FACEIT Season 10 Start Date: When Season 9 Ends & What the Reset Could Do (2026)

What FACEIT has and hasn't said about Season 10, our estimate for when Season 9 ends and why it's a range, how the Season 8 and Season 9 soft resets worked, and how to get your Elo ready for the switch.

Updated 2026-10-16 · 6 min read · by the BoostPirate crew
  • Season 9 began 5 Aug 2026
  • Season 10: not announced
  • Our estimate: mid-Nov to early Dec
  • 10 placements in S8 and S9

FACEIT Season 10 is the next big date on the FACEIT CS2 calendar — and, as of 2026-10-15, FACEIT hasn't announced it. That hasn't stopped exact dates from circulating. This guide separates what FACEIT has actually published from what is an estimate, shows the two ways to project the Season 9 end (and why they disagree by about two weeks), and explains what the last two resets did to players' Elo — the best guide to what Season 10 could bring.

Short answer: FACEIT hasn't announced when Season 9 ends or Season 10 starts. Season 8 ran 22 April 2026 – 4 August 2026 (105 days) and Season 9 began on 5 August 2026. A season as long as Season 8 would end around 17 November 2026; FACEIT's own description of seasons as running about four months would mean early December. Both are our estimates. Whether Season 10 brings another soft reset isn't confirmed either.
Key takeaways
  • Nothing is announced yet. FACEIT announced recent seasons a few weeks ahead — expect news in late October or November.
  • Our window is mid-November to early December. The season calendar counts down to 17 November and switches to the real date the day FACEIT posts it.
  • Seasons 8 and 9 both opened with a soft reset and 10 placement matches; Season 9's was lighter and personalised.
  • Activity matters. Season 9's reset read your last 50 games, and fewer than 20 wins in Season 8 added an extra inactivity penalty.
  • FACEIT says it resets "when the ecosystem needs" it — so a Season 10 reset is possible, not promised.

What's confirmed and what's an estimate

FACEIT CS2 season timeline: Season 8 from 22 April to 4 August 2026, Season 9 from 5 August 2026 with no announced end, and our Season 10 window from about 17 November (Season 8 length) to early December (four months)
Two projections, one window. Season 8's length points to 17 November; FACEIT's "four months" points to early December. Neither is announced.Graphic: BoostPirate

Season 822 April 20264 August 2026Confirmed — 105 days
Season 95 August 2026Not announcedRunning — day 74 today
Season 10Not announced—Our estimate: mid-November to early December 2026

Why two numbers? FACEIT's Season 7 FAQ said seasons “run for 4 months”, but Season 7 ran about five months and Season 8 about three and a half. So we show both: 17 November if Season 9 matches Season 8 (the date our season calendar counts down to) and early December if FACEIT sticks to four months. Anything more precise than that is a guess until FACEIT posts it on its site and socials.

How the last two resets worked

Season 8 (April 2026) was FACEIT's heaviest reset and the first to touch every player. It wasn't a hard reset: each account moved by an amount based on its Season 7 standing — the very top of Level 10 was compressed the most, active Level 1–9 players barely moved, inactive accounts dropped further. Your Elo was hidden while you played 10 placement matches, and your level showed after the tenth.

Season 9 (August 2026) was lighter and personal: FACEIT built each starting point from your activity, win rate and FACEIT Rating across your last 50 games. Fewer than 20 wins in Season 8 added an extra inactivity penalty, and players above 2,500 Elo usually started lower — the top end was compressed. There were 10 placement matches again, and this time after each placement match you see how much it moved your starting Elo. FACEIT also stressed that placements count for more than normal matches but don't swing your Elo by hundreds of points per game.

How the FACEIT Season 9 soft reset worked: your last 50 games — activity, win rate and FACEIT Rating — set a starting point, fewer than 20 wins in Season 8 added an inactivity penalty, players above 2,500 Elo were compressed, then 10 placement matches fixed your starting Elo

What Season 10 could change

  • A reset — or not. FACEIT's Season 9 article says “We run resets when the ecosystem needs them”. If it runs one, the Season 9 model (recent form, inactivity penalty, compressed top end) is the likeliest template.
  • A map vote. FACEIT added Vertigo as an optional Season 9 map after almost 100,000 votes, and says non-Active-Duty maps will keep rotating through votes. The full pool is in the CS2 map pool guide.
  • New season stats. Since 5 August each season has its own stats page and your season-high Elo is saved, so a new season also means a fresh season page.
  • No change to the level bands. Levels stay Elo bands: Level 10 starts at 2,001 Elo, and Challenger is the top 1,000 Level 10 players by Elo.

How to get ready for the switch

  1. Stay active.

Season 9 penalised accounts with fewer than 20 wins in the previous season. Twenty wins in Season 9 keeps you clear of that rule if FACEIT reuses it.

  2. Protect your recent form.

The last 50 games set Season 9's starting point. A tilted losing run in the final weeks is the worst timing there is — stop after two losses.

  3. Know your stake.

A match against a stronger team pays more and costs less. The FACEIT Elo gain calculator shows what each lobby is worth.

  4. Plan the placements.

Queue them with a settled team, not strangers, and watch how each one moves your starting Elo.

  5. Check the date before you commit.

Our season calendar flips from estimate to confirmed the moment FACEIT announces it.

Climb now or wait for the placements?

Both work — they suit different players. If you're within reach of the next level, climbing before the switch raises the standing a soft reset works from: Season 8 moved each account based on its Season 7 standing, and Season 9 read your last 50 games, so a strong finish counts twice. If you'd rather start clean, the 10 placement matches of a new season are where the starting Elo is set — and in Seasons 8 and 9 every one counted, win or lose. Either can be played by a verified Level 10 booster, piloted or with you in duo, at a live price.

Want your level locked in before the switch? A FACEIT Elo boost from verified Level 10 players gets you there, with match-room proof on every game — or have your placement matches played when the new season opens.

FAQ

Common questions

When does FACEIT Season 10 start?
FACEIT hasn't announced it (checked 15 October 2026). Season 8 lasted 105 days and Season 9 began on 5 August 2026, which points to mid-to-late November; FACEIT has also described its seasons as running about four months, which would mean early December. Treat any exact date as an estimate until FACEIT posts it.
When does FACEIT Season 9 end?
No end date has been published. Our season calendar projects 17 November 2026 from Season 8's 105-day length and switches to the real date as soon as FACEIT announces Season 10 — recent seasons were announced a few weeks ahead.
Will FACEIT Season 10 reset my Elo?
Not confirmed. Seasons 8 and 9 both opened with a soft reset and 10 placement matches, but FACEIT says it runs resets when the ecosystem needs them. If Season 10 follows Season 9, your starting Elo would come from your recent activity, win rate and FACEIT Rating, with inactive accounts adjusted down harder.
How do I prepare for a FACEIT season reset?
Stay active and keep your recent form strong: Season 9's reset read your last 50 games, and fewer than 20 wins in Season 8 added an extra inactivity penalty. Then play your placement matches with a settled team — each one moved your starting Elo in Season 9, and FACEIT showed by how much.
