Worlds 2026 Swiss Round 2: Gen.G, LYON, Dplus KIA and Movistar KOI go 2–0 as the LPL wins three — Round 3 on 25–26 October brings the first best-of-threes

How day two went

The LCK's clean sheet from Friday could not survive a Saturday on which its four teams were drawn against each other: Gen.G beat Hanwha Life in the LCK finals rematch and Dplus KIA came from behind against T1, so the league finished the round 2–2 and 6–2 overall. The LPL, 0–4 on day one, won three of four — TES, Invictus Gaming and Bilibili Gaming all got on the board, only Anyone's Legend lost again. Europe split its day: Movistar KOI and G2 won, Karmine Corp lost a game it led for a long time, and the LEC stands 4–2 after two rounds. Four teams are unbeaten going into Sunday: Gen.G, LYON, Dplus KIA and Movistar KOI.

The eight results

• 17:42 UTC — TES beat Anyone's Legend: the first LPL win of the tournament, with Tian outworking Tarzan in the jungle and Creme on Locke in the mid lane.
• 18:42 — Movistar KOI beat CTBC Flying Oyster from the first minute to the last and moved to 2–0.
• 19:47 — G2 beat LOS in a scrappy game: Caps was solo-killed more than once, but Skewmond carried from the jungle and G2 are 1–1.
• 20:51 — LYON beat Karmine Corp after trailing for most of the game; the protect-Berserker composition won the late fights, with Inspired and Dhokla decisive.
• 21:51 — Invictus Gaming beat Team Secret Whales comfortably: Rookie on Orianna, TheShy the top damage dealer on K'Sante.
• 22:54 — Gen.G beat Hanwha Life in 29 minutes in the LCK finals rematch; Ruler and Duro ran the bot lane.
• 00:05 (25 Oct) — Dplus KIA beat T1 after T1 had led for most of forty minutes; DK flipped the Elder fight (Career on Renata Glasc) for their second comeback of the event.
• 01:06 — Bilibili Gaming beat Team Liquid convincingly, Bin on Camille, to close the day at 1–1.

Round 3: the first best-of-threes

Round 3 splits the field by record. The four 2–0 teams play best-of-threes and the winners take the first two quarter-final places; the four 0–2 teams play best-of-threes and the losers go home; the eight 1–1 teams play one more best-of-one. Riot's draw show ran at 01:15 UTC and the schedule followed at 05:40 UTC. One thing to notice before you set an alarm: Europe's clocks went back overnight, so the same 10 am Pacific start that was 7 pm in Berlin on Saturday is 6 pm on Sunday.

• Sunday 25 October, 17:00 UTC (6 pm CET) — Hanwha Life vs Invictus Gaming, best-of-one.
• 18:00 UTC — G2 vs TES, best-of-one.
• 19:00 UTC — Movistar KOI vs Dplus KIA, best-of-three; the winner is in the quarter-finals.
• 22:00 UTC — Gen.G vs LYON, best-of-three; the winner is in the quarter-finals.
• Monday 26 October, 17:00 UTC — CTBC Flying Oyster vs T1, best-of-one.
• 18:00 UTC — Bilibili Gaming vs Karmine Corp, best-of-one.
• 19:00 UTC — LOS vs Team Secret Whales, best-of-three; the loser is out.
• 22:00 UTC — Team Liquid vs Anyone's Legend, best-of-three; the loser is out.

What it means for your climb

• The stage is played on 26.20 while ranked is on 26.21: Qiyana and Lee Sin are trimmed, Locke costs more mana, Varus was hotfixed on 22 October. Copy the ideas from Saturday — a protect-the-carry setup, an Elder flip when behind — rather than the exact picks.
• Phroxzon posted his 26.21 rundown on 24 October: Orianna, Azir and Ryze are the champions he wants stronger for solo queue, and a Viktor compensation may be decided by 28 October. We have a separate item on it.
• Best-of-threes start on Sunday, which means side selection, bans across games and drafts that adapt — the closest Worlds gets to a solo-queue series of your own.
• Queues stay busy around the matches; the Worlds patch and 26.21 share most of the meta, so your in-game read of the draft is still useful.

What we are watching

Sunday's four results — the first two quarter-finalists come out of the Gen.G vs LYON and Movistar KOI vs Dplus KIA series — then Monday's four, the Round 4 draw after that, and on the ranked side whether Riot touches Viktor before patch 26.22 on 4 November.
