Worlds 2026 Swiss Round 3, day one: Dplus KIA and Gen.G qualify at 3–0, Invictus Gaming and Top Esports beat Hanwha Life and G2 — Monday's four matches from 17:00 UTC
Day three of the Worlds 2026 Swiss stage produced the first two quarter-finalists. Dplus KIA swept Movistar KOI 2–0, with Smash scoring the tournament's first pentakill in game one, and Gen.G came back from a game down to beat LYON 2–1, so both LCK sides finish the Swiss stage at 3–0. In the best-of-ones Invictus Gaming beat MSI champions Hanwha Life and Top Esports beat G2, leaving both losers at 1–2. Monday 26 October from 17:00 UTC: CFO vs T1 and BLG vs Karmine Corp in best-of-ones, then LOS vs Team Secret Whales and Team Liquid vs Anyone's Legend in elimination best-of-threes.
- The four results in order (LoL Esports on X, 25 October 17:49–23:17 UTC): Invictus Gaming beat Hanwha Life (Bo1; HLE drop to 1–2), Top Esports beat G2 (Bo1; G2 1–2), Dplus KIA 2–0 Movistar KOI (first team through), Gen.G 2–1 LYON after losing game one.
- Where everyone stands: DK and Gen.G through at 3–0 as the top two seeds; IG, TES, MKOI and LYON at 2–1 need one more series win; HLE and G2 at 1–2 need two; CFO, T1, BLG and KC are 1–1 and play Monday's best-of-ones; LOS, TSW, TLAW and AL are 0–2 and play Monday's elimination best-of-threes.
- Monday 26 October (Riot's schedule post): CFO vs T1 17:00 UTC (Bo1), BLG vs Karmine Corp 18:00 UTC (Bo1), LOS vs Team Secret Whales 19:00 UTC (Bo3, loser out), Team Liquid vs Anyone's Legend 22:00 UTC (Bo3, loser out); 10 am PT is 6 pm CET now that European summer time has ended.
- After that: Round 4 best-of-threes on 28–30 October for the 2–1 and 1–2 groups, Round 5 on 31 October for the 2–2 teams, the knockouts from 3 November and the final in Brooklyn on 14 November.
- What it means for your climb: the stage is still on 26.20 while ranked is on 26.21, and Sunday's series turned on objective fights and clean engages — a pentakill in a mid-lane fight, two Baron sneaks, a three-item Camille — rather than on picks you can copy; Chovy was voted the best mechanics at Worlds by the other pros. Phroxzon's 26.22 preview is due around 27 October and 26.22 ships 4 November.
- What we are watching: Monday's four results and the Round 4 pairings, which of HLE and G2 gets through the 1–2 bracket, Riot's Viktor decision promised by 28 October, and the 26.22 preview.
How day three went
The first best-of-threes of Worlds 2026 sent the two unbeaten LCK teams through. Dplus KIA swept Movistar KOI 2–0: game one turned on a mid-lane fight that ended in Smash's pentakill, the first of the tournament, and game two was over in about 25 minutes. Gen.G needed three games against LYON — the LCS champions won the opener behind two Baron sneaks and a 10–4 kill lead, then Gen.G answered twice, with Ruler and Canyon carrying the fights and Kiin's three-item Camille in game three. Earlier, the two best-of-ones went against the favourites: Invictus Gaming beat MSI champions Hanwha Life and Top Esports beat G2, so the LPL went 2–0 on the day and HLE and G2 are one loss from going home.
The four results
- Invictus Gaming beat Hanwha Life Esports (Bo1) — IG 2–1, HLE 1–2 (17:49 UTC).
- Top Esports beat G2 Esports (Bo1) — TES 2–1, G2 1–2 (18:48 UTC).
- Dplus KIA 2–0 Movistar KOI (Bo3) — DK through at 3–0, MKOI 2–1 (20:36 UTC).
- Gen.G 2–1 LYON (Bo3) — GEN through at 3–0, LYON 2–1 (23:17 UTC).
Monday: four more, two of them for survival
Riot's schedule post for 26 October keeps the running order published on Sunday: the 1–1 teams play best-of-ones and the 0–2 teams play elimination best-of-threes. 10 am PT is now 6 pm CET.
- CFO vs T1 — Bo1, 17:00 UTC.
- Bilibili Gaming vs Karmine Corp — Bo1, 18:00 UTC.
- LOS vs Team Secret Whales — Bo3, 19:00 UTC, loser out in 15th–16th.
- Team Liquid vs Anyone's Legend — Bo3, 22:00 UTC, loser out in 15th–16th.
The road from here
Round 4 is best-of-threes on 28–30 October: the 2–1 group (IG, TES, MKOI, LYON and Monday's two Bo1 winners) plays for the third, fourth and fifth quarter-final places, and the 1–2 group (HLE, G2, Monday's two Bo1 losers and the two elimination winners) plays to stay alive. Round 5 on 31 October decides the last three places among the 2–2 teams. The knockouts start on 3 November and the final is in Brooklyn on 14 November.
What it means for your climb
- The stage is still on 26.20 while ranked is on 26.21: the Lee Sin, Qiyana and Caitlyn you see on stage are the pre-nerf versions, and Varus has been hotfixed since.
- Sunday's series were decided by objective fights and clean engages — a pentakill in a mid-lane fight, two Baron sneaks, a three-item Camille — a reminder that in solo queue the fight you take matters more than the pick you lock.
- Chovy was voted the player with the best mechanics at Worlds by the other pros; Gen.G and Dplus KIA are the two drafts worth watching through the knockouts.
- Phroxzon's 26.22 preview is expected around 27 October, with the patch on 4 November; a Viktor compensation decision was promised by 28 October.
