Counter-Strike 2 Update

Valve's 28 October update is a small quality-of-life release. Silent Reload Mode now has a Hold/Toggle option — with Toggle on you can release the reload key once the silent reload has started and tap reload again to cancel back to a fast reload — and several cases where the first reload sound played anyway are fixed. The MISC fixes cover liquids rendering black on AMD cards and sound/UI glitches when rewinding demos. Nothing changes for weapons, maps or ranks.

Counter-Strike 2 Update

Valve's 22 October update is a map-scripting release for Workshop creators: the point_script API gains precache and hostage hooks, new Console and GameRules exports, and radar elements now work in every game mode instead of only Rush. There is no weapon, map, matchmaking or anti-cheat change in the notes, so nothing moves for Premier, Competitive, Wingman or FACEIT play — your rating, Skill Group and Elo progress are untouched.

Valve sends a new wave of VACNet labeling invites and credits labelers for recent match-quality gains

Valve has sent out another wave of invites to the VACNet labeling portal, the invite-only site where selected CS2 players review short match clips to train the VACNet anti-cheat, and says the recent improvement in match quality is a direct result of that labeling. Selected players see a VACNet icon in-game, and anyone who did not get an invite can ask for one by direct-messaging the official CS2 account on X. For your Premier climb it is a sign that Valve’s anti-cheat is being fed more human verdicts — not a ban wave and not a ranked change.

Counter-Strike 2 Update

Valve shipped a small Counter-Strike 2 update late on 14 October. It is mostly a quality-of-life pass for the demo and replay viewer — a download progress bar, click-and-drag camera controls and a free or chase camera while the demo is paused — plus AUG reload animations that now match the half-second-faster reload from last week. Nothing here touches weapon balance, maps or matchmaking, so your Premier rating and FACEIT Elo are unaffected; reviewing your own demos just gets easier.

WARDOGS devlog delayed again: BULKHEAD holds back the Season 2 reflection and Season 3 preview to get its plans right — no new date, 12 November still unconfirmed

BULKHEAD will not release the WARDOGS devlog promised for this week. Community manager Lossy wrote on 30 October that the studio is making big moves and wants the information right before committing to camera; it will take longer, as the foundation for Season 3 and beyond. The video was to carry the Season 2 reflection and the Season 3 preview, promised on 17 and again on 23 October. For players nothing changes: the 12 November Season 3 date — so far stated only by Joe Brammer in a Steam review reply — still has no formal announcement, and the wipe rules remain unwritten.

WARDOGS approves two more community-server hosting partners — GG Host and 1of1 Servers — with more tools for server admins promised

BULKHEAD approved GG Host and 1of1 Servers as hosting partners for WARDOGS community servers on 26 October, repeating that community servers are in Early Access alongside the game and that more features to support server admins will be announced soon. Nothing in the post touches progression, the Season 3 date or the 12 November wipe.

BULKHEAD's first podcast: a four-to-five-week Season 2, three-month seasons after it, Intel progression pencilled in for Q2 2027, a limited-gear mode — still no Season 3 date

BULKHEAD has started an official WARDOGS podcast, The Hotzone: in the 71-minute first episode studio lead Joe Brammer and three designers go through the Season 2 launch with their own data, and its description calls Season 2 the game's first Early Access wipe. On timing the line is unchanged and undated — an earlier wipe than the six-to-eight-week plan (four or five weeks was the figure), then roughly three-month seasons with a mid-season update. Further out: a limited-gear mode without infrared binoculars, a new map in testing, Intel progression around Q2 2027. Season 3 vlog: next week.

WARDOGS dev vlog slips to next week — Season 2 reflection and Season 3 preview, plus a launch-recap podcast this weekend; no Season 3 date yet

BULKHEAD says its next dev vlog — a Season 2 reflection and a Season 3 preview — is dropping next week, a week later than promised on 17 October, and that it is piloting a podcast this weekend to recap the Season 2 launch. There is still no Season 3 date, nothing on a wipe and no written notes for the backend hotfix or the 175 ms ping cap; CEO Joe Brammer added on 23 October that the cap is temporary and that the studio is working with Valve, Amazon and other companies on the permanent region fix. Nothing changes for your climb this weekend: Season 2 runs on under the current rules.

Patch 26.22 full preview: Viktor gets scaling back instead of a revert, Locke's Q and W trimmed, Thresh and Yasuo lightly nerfed, Doran's Bow down to 7 AD — patch 4 November

Phroxzon posted the full patch 26.22 preview with numbers on 28 October. Viktor keeps the 26.21 move-speed and Q-shield cuts but gets a 60 % AP ratio on R and 105 health per level; Locke loses 3 damage per Q stack and a second of W speed; Thresh drops 2 base AD and 50 R damage; Yasuo's Q ratio falls to 100 % total AD. Ten buffs cover Aurelion Sol, Corki, Kayle, Maokai, Naafiri, Rumble, Shen's jungle clear, Smolder, Viktor and Zaahen; Overlord's Bloodmail gains 10 AD, Doran's Bow loses one. Aurora and Renekton, listed as adjustments a day earlier, are gone. The patch ships 4 November.

Patch 26.22 preview: Mel loses the reflect for good, Viktor and Smolder among ten buffs, Locke, Thresh and Yasuo nerfed, Doran's Bow trimmed — the patch lands 4 November

Phroxzon's preview for patch 26.22 (27 October) lists ten buffs — Aurelion Sol, Corki, Kayle, Maokai, Naafiri, Rumble, Shen, Smolder, Viktor and Zaahen — three nerfs (Locke, Thresh, Yasuo) and adjustments to Aurora, Mel and Renekton, plus a buffed Overlord's Bloodmail and a rebalanced Doran's Bow versus Doran's Blade. Mel's mini-update ships in this patch and her W reflect is gone for good: Riot tried several versions that kept it and found none that worked for both sides. Numbers follow later; the patch is due 4 November, so ranked stays on 26.21 for one more week.

Patch 26.21 rundown: Phroxzon says Azir and Orianna could get more, a Viktor compensation may be decided by 28 October, and Varus is pushed back to bot lane

Riot's gameplay lead Phroxzon has posted his 44-minute rundown of patch 26.21, the first patch after the Worlds lock: it hands power back to champions only pros could make work — Azir, Orianna, Ryze — and pulls in three item outliers, Bastion Breaker, Hubris on ranged champions and Gluttonous Greaves. His early read: Orianna landed around +1% and she and Azir could get more; the Lee Sin and Nidalee nerfs bite hardest at high MMR, as intended; Viktor's move-speed nerf hit harder than planned, so a compensation may be decided by 28 October; Varus is rebuilt so Q-max bot lane beats W-max top.

Patch 26.21 hotfix: Varus gets more passive AD/AP and a higher Q minimum after a Q bug fix (22 October)

Riot has added a mid-patch update to 26.21 dated 22 October: a bug had removed the reduced damage Varus' Q deals to targets after the first, so Riot is fixing it and compensating with a buff — passive bonus AD and AP on a kill or takedown go from 1.1 to 1.4 per 10 % attack speed, and Q's minimum damage from 50–230 to 50–250. It is the only hotfix on the patch so far and changes nothing about ranked rules, LP or the season end.
