VALORANT Immortal and Radiant Guide (2026): RR Thresholds and the Top 500

How the top of the VALORANT ladder works in 2026: RR from Immortal 1 upward, every region's Immortal 2, Immortal 3 and Radiant thresholds, the top-500 rule, demotion, queue rules and a plan to climb.

Updated 2026-10-31 · 9 min read · by the BoostPirate crew
  • Immortal 1 starts at 10 RR
  • Radiant: top 500 per region
  • EU Radiant line: 500 RR
  • Solo, duo or five-stack only

Below Immortal, VALORANT ranks are a ladder of 100 RR steps. From Immortal 1 up they become a leaderboard: RR stops resetting, the next ranks are RR lines that differ by region, and the last one also asks for a place in your region's top 500. This guide explains the top of the ladder as it stands on 31 October 2026 (V26 // Act VI, patch 13.09): how Immortal RR works, every region's thresholds, what it takes to reach and keep Radiant, what each new Act does to you, the queue rules at the top and a plan to climb from Immortal 1.

Short answer: at Immortal 1 you start on 10 RR and RR keeps adding up — there is no 100 RR bar any more. Immortal 2 and Immortal 3 are RR lines set per region (Europe 100 and 200 RR, North America 90 and 200), and Radiant needs your region's Radiant line — 500 RR in Europe, 450 in North America — and a place among the region's top 500 players. At this height RR depends only on wins and losses, and you can queue only solo, as a duo or as a five-stack.
Key takeaways
  • Immortal 1 starts at 10 RR, and from there your RR is a running total with no cap.
  • The lines differ by region. Riot re-set them in patch 12.05 (March 2026) to even out the leaderboards.
  • Radiant needs both conditions, and you fall out by dropping below the line or losing more RR than the lowest Radiant.
  • Every Act start hits the top. One-game Acts cut RR by 90%; the full resets at Act I and Act IV send everyone back to Ascendant 3 or lower.
  • Ascendant and above must verify with Riot Mobile to queue Competitive, in every region since February 2026.

How the top of the ladder works

Riot's support article puts it plainly: from Immortal 1, as long as you keep winning, you keep earning RR. You arrive on 10 RR, every win adds and every loss subtracts, and none of the performance adjustments of the lower ranks apply — Immortal and Radiant RR depends entirely on the result. There is no rank decay either; you can slide down the leaderboard as others pass you, but your rank stays.

Every Immortal and Radiant player appears on their region's leaderboard, which shows games won in the Act, rank, RR, Riot ID, title and player card, and can be filtered by rank. Two rules come with it: you need to play at least one Competitive game every 7 days to keep your place, and you can opt to appear as a Secret Agent to stay anonymous.

Immortal 2, Immortal 3 and Radiant thresholds by region

These are the RR totals Riot lists for each rank, counted from the 10 RR you start Immortal 1 with. Patch 12.05 set them in March 2026 "to bring parity" to the leaderboards of all regions, without changing the MMR underneath:

RegionImmortal 2 rank iconImmortal 2Immortal 3 rank iconImmortal 3Radiant rank iconRadiant
Europe (EU)100 RR200 RR500 RR + top 500
North America (NA)90 RR200 RR450 RR + top 500
Asia-Pacific (APC)80 RR200 RR400 RR + top 500
Brazil (BR)100 RR230 RR340 RR + top 500
Latin America (LATAM)90 RR150 RR200 RR + top 500
Korea (KR)90 RR150 RR200 RR + top 500

The Radiant figure is a minimum, not the whole story. Only 500 players per region can be Radiant, so when more than 500 players are above the line the real cut-off is the RR of the 500th — your region's leaderboard shows where that sits today. Riot lists Latin America and Korea together with the same lines.

Reaching and keeping Radiant

To become Radiant you need your region's Radiant RR and a top-500 place; Riot says both conditions must be met. Falling works rank by rank:

  • Immortal 1: reach 0 RR and lose again. Rank Shields (patch 10.01) apply in tier 1 of every rank except Radiant, so two losses at 0 RR are absorbed first.
  • Immortal 2 and Immortal 3: fall below your region's line for that rank.
  • Radiant: lose more RR than the lowest Radiant player in your region, or fall below your region's Radiant line.

Riot has said it wants the race for a Radiant spot to reflect performance, "not just pure grind", and has stepped up anti-cheat and win-trading detection; its 13.06 notes promise "updates for the Radiant experience" in patch 14.00, without details yet.

What every new Act does to Immortal and Radiant

Acts II, III, V and VI — one game, RR cut by 90%

You play one placement game and keep your leaderboard position, but your RR drops to a tenth: 450 RR becomes 45. That returns every Radiant player to Immortal until the RR is won back, and it squeezes the whole leaderboard together for the first weeks of the Act.

Act I and Act IV — five placements, back to Ascendant 3

The full resets treat the top like everyone else: five placement games and no placement above Ascendant 3, so Immortal and Radiant have to be won again in ordinary games. The next one is the 2027 season start in early January.

The Act reset guide has the V26 calendar and what each reset carries over.

Queue rules at the top

  • Solo, duo or five-stack only. From Immortal 1 you can't queue in a group of three, and nobody can queue as four. A duo partner must be within Riot's party range — for Platinum and above, at most one rank apart (Platinum 2 can queue with up to Diamond 2).
  • Five-stacks lose RR. A stack with an Immortal 1–3 player gets 25% less RR and one with a Radiant 75% less — and Riot adds that any player below Radiant in a group cuts the potential RR by 90%. Five-stacks also only meet other five-stacks.
  • Riot Mobile verification. Every account that has reached Ascendant or higher must verify with Riot Mobile multi-factor authentication to queue Competitive — North America, Brazil, Latin America and Korea from 28 October 2025, Europe from 21 January 2026, Asia-Pacific from 18 February 2026 — and the requirement doesn't lapse if you drop.
  • Rank manipulation is enforced. Since patch 13.01 Riot penalises confirmed cases with suspensions, rank reversions and reward reversions, and its Playing Fair post names win-trading and account sharing among them.

How to climb from Immortal 1

  1. Play for the win, not the scoreboard.

RR here depends only on the result. A quiet game on the agent your team needs is worth exactly as much as a highlight reel — fill the gap in your team's composition.

  2. Find one reliable duo partner.

A duo is the only small party allowed from Immortal 1, and a five-stack costs at least 25% of your RR.

  3. Review your losses.

Record your games and watch the rounds you lost; at this level losses usually come from the same few habits — a peek you always take, a rotation you always make late.

  4. Use the start of each Act.

The 90% cut squeezes everyone's RR together, so a strong first week can move you past players who were far ahead at the end of the last Act.

  5. Stay active.

Riot asks for at least one Competitive game every 7 days to keep your leaderboard place. A break doesn't cost rank — there is no decay — but your place on the board depends on playing.

  6. Protect your mental.

Leaderboard RR is won and lost one result at a time, and a tilted session can undo a good week. Stop after two losses in a row.

Immortal RR with help

Our Immortal RR & Radiant service is priced per 10 RR of leaderboard RR, from 90 to 1,000 RR, on your shard. From Europe's Immortal 3 line (200 RR) to 300 RR is $103.50 today, and 300 to Europe's Radiant line at 500 RR $211.50. An RR order buys the RR, not the badge: Radiant also needs a top-500 place, which depends on everyone else in your region. Be honest with yourself about the risk. These orders are piloted — someone else plays your account — which Riot's rules forbid, and at this height the leaderboard is watched closely and every account must pass Riot Mobile verification. Read is VALORANT boosting safe? first; coaching with an Immortal+ player is the option that stays inside the rules.

Plan your push. Price Immortal RR (orders from $35.00), a rank boost to Immortal 3 or coaching (from $22.00 an hour) — the booster is paid only after you approve the result.

FAQ

Common questions

How much RR do you need for Radiant?
It depends on the region: 500 RR in Europe, 450 in North America, 400 in Asia-Pacific, 340 in Brazil and 200 in Latin America and Korea. You also have to be one of the top 500 players on your region's leaderboard.
How do you get Immortal 2 and Immortal 3?
By passing your region's RR line, counted from the 10 RR you start Immortal 1 with: Immortal 2 at 80 to 100 RR and Immortal 3 at 150 to 230 RR depending on the region (Europe 100 and 200, North America 90 and 200).
How do you lose Radiant?
By losing more RR than the lowest Radiant player in your region, or by falling below your region's Radiant threshold. At the start of Acts II, III, V and VI every Radiant's RR is also cut by 90%, which returns them to Immortal.
Can Immortal players queue in a group?
Only solo, as a duo or as a five-stack. A five-stack with an Immortal player gets 25% less RR, one with a Radiant 75% less. Every account at Ascendant or above also needs Riot Mobile verification to queue Competitive.
