How many matches to your target rank?
Gold II7,340 RP
Platinum II10,000 RP
The maths Platinum II starts at 10,000 RP β your 7,340 RP = 2,660 RP to go.
| Tier | RP in it | Entry | Net a match | Matches |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| 1,160 RP | 38 RP | +30 | 39 | |
| 1,500 RP | 48 RP | +25 | 60 |
A bottom-half finish with no kills costs 38 RP in Gold. You're 340 RP into Gold II β 8 such matches in a row would use that up.
5 top-five finishes in a row: +100 RP of streak bonus β not added to the plan, as your average may already include it.
Or let a booster do it
Gold II β Platinum II Β· our estimate from the start of Gold II
We boost to Master, not Apex Predator β Predator is the top 750 Master players per platform, so nobody can promise it.
Rules from EA Help's ranked page (read 1 November 2026): the entry cost of 10β90 RP from Bronze up comes back on a top-half finish, and placement, kills, assists and participation earn RP on top. The division floors and Master at 16,000 RP are derived from EA's split-two reset table β EA doesn't print every value. Season 31 (3 November 2026) adds Challenger and Goliath entry adjustments, whose amounts EA hasn't published, so the plan uses the standard entry costs. Real matches swing around your average. The booster estimate is our checkout engine's for this exact climb β our boosters' pace by tier, from about 6 divisions a day in Rookie to about 1 in Diamond. How RP works in Apex Legends ranked
Every ranked match costs RP to enter β nothing in Rookie, 10 RP in Bronze, rising to 90 RP in Master and Apex Predator β and you get it back by finishing in the top half, the top 10 of 20 squads. On top of that you earn RP for your placement and for every kill, assist or participation: an assist counts as a full kill, and "if your team kills another player without you doing any damage to that player, you'll earn half a kill". The higher you place, the more each kill is worth.
Three rules shape a good ranked match. After your eighth kill, each kill, assist and participation is worth half. A victim one, two, three or four-plus tiers above you adds 15%, 25%, 35% or 50% to that kill. And consecutive top-five finishes pay a streak bonus: +10 RP on the second in a row, +20 on the third, +30 on the fourth and +40 on the fifth and every one after β any finish outside the top five resets it. Heals and revives earn no RP.
EA publishes the rules but not the numbers behind placement and kills, which is why the calculator asks for your average net RP a match. Over a climb it then counts the entry cost: the same finishes earn less in a higher tier, by the extra entry on every match you finish outside the top half. A Gold player who moves into Platinum pays 10 RP more on each bottom-half match.
The RP ladder and entry cost per tier
The RP each division starts at. Rookie through Diamond have four divisions, IV the lowest; Master has none. Derived from EA's split-two reset table and its RP-per-step list β EA's step list says Silver I β Gold IV is 750 RP, but the table puts Gold IV at 5,500, so Silver I is 1,000 RP wide here.
| Tier | IV | III | II | I | A division | Entry |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| 0 | 250 | 500 | 750 | 250 RP | 0 RP | |

EA adds the higher-tier bonus on top of the kill's final value. It gives no base value for a kill, so the table shows the bonus as a multiplier on whatever your kill is worth.
What Season 31 changes
- 3 November 2026 β Season 31 "Cipher" starts with a ranked reset; you're placed from your hidden Ranked MMR, with no placement matches.
- Challenger and Goliath matches β each lobby gets a Lobby Tier, the median of its squads' tiers. A squad two or more tiers below it pays a lower entry (Challenger), one two or more tiers above pays more (Goliath), shown before the match. EA hasn't published the amounts yet.
- Three demotion shields appear when a single match could demote you; you only drop after all three are used.
- Legend bans in any match with Diamond or higher players: each player nominates one Legend, and bans are drawn at random, weighted by votes.
- Account level 20 unlocks ranked again β the Road to Ranked challenges are removed.
- Season 32 (early 2027) replaces this ladder β Iron, Emerald, Masters IVβI and Grandmaster, with per-division entry costs β so this calculator is for Season 31.

FAQ
Common questions
How much RP do you need to rank up in Apex Legends?
Divisions get longer as you climb: 250 RP in Rookie, 500 in Bronze and Silver, 750 in Gold, 750 to 1,000 in Platinum and 1,000 in Diamond. EA's split-two reset table puts Bronze IV at 1,000 RP, Gold IV at 5,500, Platinum IV at 8,500 and Diamond IV at 12,000, so Master starts at 16,000 RP.
How much does a ranked match cost in Apex?
The entry cost depends on your tier: 0 RP in Rookie, 10 in Bronze, 20 in Silver, 38 in Gold, 48 in Platinum, 65 in Diamond and 90 in Master and Apex Predator. You get it back by finishing in the top half β the top 10 of the 20 squads. From Season 31 a Challenger squad pays less and a Goliath squad pays more; EA hasn't published by how much.
How many matches does it take to get through Platinum?
It depends on your average net RP a match, which EA doesn't publish β read it from your own last ten matches. At +30 a match, the 3,500 RP from Platinum IV to Diamond IV takes about 117 matches. Diamond divisions are 1,000 RP each and the entry rises to 65, so the same placements earn less there.
How much is a kill worth in Apex ranked?
EA gives no fixed number. A kill is worth more the higher you place, an assist counts as a kill and a participation as half. After your eighth kill each one counts half, and a victim one to four or more tiers above you adds 15%, 25%, 35% or 50% to that kill. Heals and revives earn no RP.
