Apex Legends Ranks Explained (2026): Every Tier, Rookie to Predator

Every Apex Legends rank in order with EA's badges: the eight tiers from Rookie to Apex Predator, how much RP each division takes, what a ranked match costs to enter, and what changes in Seasons 31 and 32.

Updated 2026-11-02 · 9 min read · by the BoostPirate crew
  • 8 tiers, 24 divisions + Master
  • Master at 16,000 RP
  • Entry cost 0–90 RP
  • Predator: top 750 per platform

Apex Legends ranked looks simple from the lobby: a badge, a tier name and a number. Underneath, every division has its own RP size, every tier its own entry cost, and the top rank isn't a rank at all but a leaderboard. This guide lays out the ladder as it stands on 2 November 2026, the day before Season 31 "Cipher" begins: all eight tiers in order with EA's badges, how much RP each division takes, what a match costs to enter, how Master and Apex Predator work, and what EA has already announced for the next two seasons.

Short answer: Apex Legends has eight ranked tiers: Rookie, Bronze, Silver, Gold, Platinum, Diamond, Master and Apex Predator. Rookie to Diamond have four divisions each, from IV (lowest) to I, so there are 24 divisions below Master. Master has no divisions, and Apex Predator is the top 750 Masters on each platform. Worked out from EA's split-two reset table (EA prints no Master number), Master starts at 16,000 RP. Every match costs between 0 RP (Rookie) and 90 RP (Master) to enter, and a top-half finish earns it back.
Key takeaways
  • 24 divisions, then Master. Predator is a top-750 leaderboard per platform, not a division you can hold forever.
  • Divisions get longer as you climb: 250 RP in Rookie, 500 in Bronze and Silver, 750 in Gold, 1,000 in Diamond.
  • Entry cost rises from 0 to 90 RP. From Bronze up, a bottom-half finish with no kills loses RP.
  • Your rank is tracked per platform. PS4 and PS5 count as one platform; PC is its own.
  • Season 31 (3 November 2026) opens ranked at account level 20; Season 32 (early 2027) brings a new ladder.

Every Apex Legends rank in order

EA lists eight tiers, lowest first. "Each rank is split into four divisions—for example, Bronze IV, Bronze III, Bronze II, and Bronze I", so IV is where a tier starts and I is the step below the next tier. Rookie is "an introductory tier for new players to learn about Ranked mode", and once you climb out of it you can't fall back in. These are EA's badges, from the bottom:

In a match, the aura around each player shows their current rank in a colour of its own, so you can read the lobby at a glance:

Divisions, entry costs and auras: EA Help, "How Apex Legends Ranked works" (read 1 November 2026). "Starts at" is worked out from EA's split-two reset table; see the next section.

How much RP each division takes

EA Help lists the RP between divisions step by step, and its split-two reset table gives fixed RP values for several divisions: Bronze IV at 1,000, Silver IV at 3,000, Gold IV at 5,500, Platinum IV at 8,500, Platinum III at 9,250, Platinum II at 10,000 and Platinum I at 11,000. Put the two together and every division floor falls into place:

TierIVIIIIII
Rookie rank iconRookie0250500750
Bronze rank iconBronze1,0001,5002,0002,500
Silver rank iconSilver3,0003,5004,0004,500
Gold rank iconGold5,5006,2507,0007,750
Platinum rank iconPlatinum8,5009,25010,00011,000
Diamond rank iconDiamond12,00013,00014,00015,000
Master rank iconMaster16,000 RP and up, no divisions

Three things to know about this table:

  • Master at 16,000 RP is worked out, not printed. EA gives no Master threshold. Diamond IV sits at 12,000 (Platinum I's 11,000 plus EA's 1,000-RP step), and EA lists every Diamond division as 1,000 RP, so the fourth one ends at 16,000. The community tracker apexlegendsstatus backs it up: on 1 November 2026 the Predator line on Switch 2, a platform with fewer than 750 Masters, read exactly 16,000 RP.
  • One step doesn't add up. EA's step list shows 750 RP from Silver I to Gold IV, which would put Gold IV at 5,250. EA's reset table only works if Gold IV is 5,500, which makes Silver I a 1,000-RP division. We follow the reset table.
  • The numbers have changed before. In Season 22 (August 2024) Silver ran 3,000, 3,600, 4,200 and 4,800 and Gold IV started at 5,400. Treat any table without a date as suspect, this one included.

The climb gets steeper in two places. Platinum II and I are 1,000 RP each where Platinum IV and III are 750, and all of Diamond is 1,000 RP a division, so Diamond IV to Master is a quarter of the whole ladder (4,000 of 16,000 RP).

What a ranked match costs

"Each Ranked match costs RP to enter, and you'll earn RP back if you place in the top half of a match." With 20 squads in a lobby, the top half means a top-10 finish. The entry cost depends on your tier: 0 RP in Rookie, then Bronze rank iconBronze 10, Silver rank iconSilver 20, Gold rank iconGold 38, Platinum rank iconPlatinum 48, Diamond rank iconDiamond 65 and Master rank iconMaster 90, the same for Apex Predator.

That number is the price of a bad game. A Gold player who goes out in 15th place without a kill loses 38 RP; a Master player in the same spot loses 90. Kills and assists earn RP wherever you finish, and they're worth more the higher you place, which is why survival matters more in Apex ranked than in public matches. The full scoring, with the kill rules, the higher-tier bonus and the top-five streak, is in Apex RP explained.

The Apex Legends ranked ladder as a bar from 0 to 16,000 RP: Rookie with four 250-RP divisions from 0, Bronze with four 500-RP divisions from 1,000, Silver from 3,000 with Silver I marked as 1,000 RP wide, Gold with 750-RP divisions from 5,500, Platinum from 8,500, Diamond with 1,000-RP divisions from 12,000, and Master at 16,000 with the Apex Predator badge for the top 750 per platform; below it the entry cost per match by tier: 0, 10, 20, 38, 48, 65 and 90 RP, earned back with a top-10 finish
16,000 RP to Master. Each block is one division drawn to its size; the row below is what every match costs to enter in that tier.Graphic: BoostPirate · rank badges © Electronic Arts

Master and Apex Predator

Master rank iconMaster has no divisions: from 16,000 RP up, everyone is simply Master, and the RP number keeps counting. Apex Predator rank iconApex Predator is a different kind of rank. In EA's words, "Apex Predators are the top 750 players per platform in the Master rank." There's no fixed RP line: you're a Predator while you're in the top 750 on your platform, and the RP of 750th place keeps moving all season.

How high that line sits depends on how many Masters a platform has. On 1 November 2026, at the end of Season 30, apexlegendsstatus (community data, updated hourly) showed the 750th Master at about 41,200 RP on PC and about 29,000 on PlayStation, far above the 16,000 needed for Master. The full snapshot for every platform, and what it takes to get there, is in how to reach Master and Predator.

Unlocking ranked: account level 20

Ranked isn't open on a brand-new account. For years the bar was account level 20. With the Takeover update on 10 February 2025 EA added Road to Ranked, a set of challenges new players had to clear as well, because the developers said the level-20-only system "was easy for third-party bots to abuse". EA Help still describes that Season 30 system, in which players who already had access kept it.

Season 31 turns the clock back. EA's Ranked Roadmap (20 October 2026) says "Road to Ranked Challenges are being removed and access to Ranked will move back to only requiring Account Level 20", and that EA "will keep exploring" where exactly the line should sit. From 3 November 2026, level 20 is all you need.

One rank per platform

Your legends, skins and account level follow your EA Account across platforms with cross-progression. Ranked doesn't: "Ranked progress is tracked separately on each platform." "Different generations of the same console, like PlayStation®4 and PlayStation®5, count as the same platform", so a PS4 rank carries to a PS5, but a PC rank and a PlayStation rank are separate climbs. EA's platform list for Season 31 is PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, Nintendo Switch 2 and PC (EA app, Steam and Epic Games Store). The details are in cross-progression and ranked.

The ladder also sets who you can queue with. "All players in a premade Ranked squad have to be within two ranks of each other", so a Bronze player can queue with Rookie, Silver and Gold friends but not with a Platinum one, and the squad is matched on its highest RP. See ranked party rules.

Resets, Season 31 and the ladder ahead

Your rank isn't permanent. Ranked resets twice a season: at the start, when you're placed from your hidden Ranked MMR, and at split two, when EA's fixed table moves you down, for example Master and Predator players to Platinum I. Season rewards follow the best rank you reached in either split. How each reset works is in the ranked reset guide.

Two seasons of change are already announced:

  • Season 31 "Cipher", 3 November 2026: Legend bans in matches with Diamond or higher players, Challenger and Goliath entry costs based on the lobby's median tier, three visible demotion shields and the level-20 unlock. The tiers and divisions above stay as they are, as far as EA has announced. See Season 31 ranked changes.
  • Season 32, "early 2027": Iron replaces Rookie, Emerald joins between Platinum and Diamond, Masters gets four divisions and Grandmaster becomes the top tier, with Predator going to the top 750 of Grandmaster at the end of the season. These are EA's plans, not live rules: see the Season 32 overhaul.

Help with the climb

If the rank matters more than the hours, our Apex services are priced division by division from the same engine as checkout, on this ladder, on PC. Diamond IV to Master, the 4,000 RP at the top of the table, is $83.16 today, and Silver IV to Gold IV $15.84. We boost to Master, not to Predator: a top-750 spot that keeps moving can't honestly be promised. Apex Legends boosting isn't open for orders yet: get the launch alert on the Apex Legends page.

Know the rules first. EA's rules for Apex Legends call account sharing and paid account levelling by third-party sellers unauthorized, and repeated breaches can close the EA Account. Read our Risk Disclosure and is Apex Legends boosting safe? before you order. Coaching is the option that stays inside the rules.

  • Climb: Rank Boost from Rookie IV to Master, piloted or duo in your squad.
  • Improve: 1-on-1 coaching with a Master+ player, live or on your clips.
  • Show it: the 4K damage badge on the legends you pick.
Apex Legends boosting opens soon. Get the launch alert on the Apex Legends page. The service pages already show live prices for a rank boost (orders from $4.00) and coaching (from $16.90 an hour).

FAQ

Common questions

How many ranks are in Apex Legends?
Eight tiers: Rookie, Bronze, Silver, Gold, Platinum, Diamond, Master and Apex Predator. Rookie to Diamond have four divisions each, numbered IV (lowest) to I, so there are 24 divisions below Master. Master has no divisions, and Predator is a leaderboard of the top 750 Masters on each platform.
What is the highest rank in Apex Legends?
Apex Predator: the top 750 Master players on your platform. It has no fixed RP line, because 750th place moves all season. On 1 November 2026 apexlegendsstatus, a community tracker, put it at about 41,200 RP on PC and about 29,000 on PlayStation.
How much RP do you need for Master in Apex?
16,000 RP. EA doesn't print a Master number, but its split-two reset table puts Diamond IV at 12,000 RP and EA lists every Diamond division as 1,000 RP, so four Diamond divisions end at 16,000.
What level do you need to play ranked in Apex?
Account level 20. EA's Ranked Roadmap says Season 31 (from 3 November 2026) removes the Road to Ranked challenges, so reaching level 20 is the only requirement.
