How to Reach Master and Apex Predator in Apex Legends (2026)

What it takes to reach Master and Apex Predator: the 16,000 RP line, the Predator cut-off on each platform, what a match costs at the top, who you queue against, and how Season 31 changes the endgame.

Updated 2026-11-02 · 10 min read · by the BoostPirate crew
  • Master at 16,000 RP
  • Predator: top 750 per platform
  • PC line ~41,200 RP (1 Nov)
  • 90 RP entry in Master

Master and Apex Predator are the two badges every Apex Legends ranked player recognises, and they work in completely different ways. Master is a line you cross once a split. Predator is a seat in a room of 750 on your platform that someone is always trying to take. This guide explains both with EA's rules and the numbers that matter: how much RP Master takes, where the Predator line sat on each platform on 1 November 2026, what a match costs at the top, who you'll be playing against, and how Season 31 "Cipher" (3 November 2026) and the Season 32 rebuild change the endgame. Checked 2 November 2026.

Short answer: Master is a fixed line at 16,000 RP, after four Diamond divisions of 1,000 RP each. Apex Predator is the top 750 Masters on your platform, so the RP it needs moves all season: on 1 November 2026 it was about 41,200 RP on PC and 29,000 on PlayStation (apexlegendsstatus, community data). At the top every match costs 65–90 RP to enter, and from Season 31 matches with Diamond+ players also have Legend bans, so a deep Legend pool and steady top-five finishes matter more than kill counts.
Key takeaways
  • Master is 16,000 RP; Predator is a moving top-750 line, so read it live for your platform.
  • PC's Predator line is far higher than consoles' because PC has many more Masters competing for the same 750 places.
  • 90 RP to enter makes bottom-half finishes expensive; top-five streaks pay up to 40 RP a match.
  • 85% of Masters squads are full premades, by EA's own count. Solo is possible but harder.
  • Split two drops Master to Platinum I at 11,000 RP, but your season reward keeps your best split.

Master vs Predator: a line and a leaderboard

Master rank iconMaster is the seventh of EA's eight tiers and the last one with an RP threshold. It has no divisions: from 16,000 RP up everyone is Master, and the RP number simply keeps counting until split two resets the ladder.

Apex Predator rank iconApex Predator isn't a step at all. In EA's words, "Apex Predators are the top 750 players per platform in the Master rank." Everyone ranked 751st or lower on a platform is Master, however much RP they have; the top 750 wear the red badge. It's per platform because ranked itself is, so a PC Predator and a PlayStation Predator are on separate lists (PS4 and PS5 share one). You can lose Predator without losing a single match, simply by being overtaken.

The RP road to Master

EA doesn't print a Master number, but its own tables pin it down. The split-two reset table puts Platinum I at 11,000 RP, EA's step list adds 1,000 RP to reach Diamond IV, and every Diamond division is 1,000 RP. Four of them end at 16,000 RP:

Platinum I rank iconPlatinum I11,0001,00048 RP

Division floors worked out from EA Help's split-two table and step list (read 1 November 2026); EA gives no Master threshold. apexlegendsstatus' Predator line on Switch 2, a platform with fewer than 750 Masters, read exactly 16,000 RP on 1 November 2026, which matches.

So the last stretch is long: Platinum IV to Master is 7,500 RP, and Diamond IV to Master alone is 4,000 RP, a quarter of the whole ladder from Rookie, all of it at Diamond's 65-RP entry. That's why Diamond is where most climbs stall. The full ladder is in our Apex ranks guide.

Today's Predator line on each platform

EA doesn't publish the Predator cut-off. The community tracker apexlegendsstatus estimates it hourly from the players it can see. Its reading on 1 November 2026, at the very end of Season 30's second split:

PlatformRP of 750th place (Predator line)RP above MasterMasters + Predators (estimate)
PC41,22725,22722,990
PlayStation29,02213,02211,137
Xbox20,3164,3163,256
Switch 216,000none640

Community data, not EA's: apexlegendsstatus "Points for Predator", read 1 November 2026; it updates hourly and says its Masters count "is very likely to be under-estimated". Its "Switch" is Switch 2: original Switch play ended on 4 August 2026.

The pattern is simple. The more Masters a platform has, the higher the 750th one sits. PC had an estimated 22,990 Masters and Predators, so a PC Predator needed more than 25,000 RP above the Master line. Switch 2 had about 640, fewer than 750, so every Master there was a Predator and the line sat at 16,000. The numbers also climb through a split as players push, and they reset with the ladder at split two and at every new season, so check the live figure for your platform rather than trusting a number from last month, this one included.

The Apex Predator line by platform on 1 November 2026 from apexlegendsstatus community data: PC 41,227 RP with about 22,990 Masters and Predators, PlayStation 29,022 RP with 11,137, Xbox 20,316 RP with 3,256, and Switch 2 16,000 RP with 640, drawn as bars against a dashed Master line at 16,000 RP; cards: 16,000 RP for Master worked out from EA reset table, Predators are the top 750 per platform so with fewer than 750 Masters every Master is a Predator, and 90 RP entry for Master and Predator matches against 65 in Diamond
Same badge, very different bars. Predator is the top 750 per platform, so the line follows how many Masters a platform has. Snapshot of 1 November 2026.Graphic: BoostPirate · data: apexlegendsstatus (community) · rank badges © Electronic Arts

What every match costs at the top

EA's entry cost climbs to its peak exactly where the climb is longest: 65 RP a match in Diamond and 90 RP in Master and Predator, earned back only with a top-10 finish of 20 squads. Ten bottom-half games without a kill cost a Master 900 RP; eight in Diamond cost 520, more than half a division. Three more of EA's rules shape how the top is played:

  • Kills after your eighth count half. A 15-kill game is worth eleven and a half kills' value, not fifteen. The RP at the top is in finishing high with a solid kill count, not in the biggest fight.
  • Placement scales every kill. "The higher you place, the more each kill is worth", so the same kills pay more in a top-three finish than in 9th.
  • The top-five streak adds up. +10, +20, +30, then +40 for every further top-five finish in a row: five in a row add 100 RP of bonus, more than a Master match costs.

Our boosters' view, not EA's: at this level the climb comes from rotating early to safe positions, taking fights you can finish before the next squad arrives, and protecting the streak, more than from mechanics alone. The scoring rules are explained in full in Apex RP explained.

Who you're queuing against

EA's matchmaking post of 30 September 2026 is unusually open about the top of the ladder. "85% of Masters squads are premade three-stacks." To build a lobby, "the matchmaker pulls 60 available players of similar RP into a lobby, sorts everyone by RP, and splits that list into thirds", and each squad gets one player from each third. Premades have an edge EA measured itself: a full premade trio wins 17% more often than a squad of three solos, and a premade duo plus a solo fill 19% more often.

EA has tried to narrow that gap. Since Season 29 (May 2026) "solo players will matchmake against opponents of a slightly lower skill tier", in EA's words to "reduce the advantage of full premade squads". It also tested a solo-queue-only ranked for Diamond and up in Season 29 and a one-tier premade limit in 2026, and made neither permanent: "We are not rolling out the solo queue experiment as a permanent requirement." So the honest summary: Master solo is possible, but most of the squads in your lobby will be coordinated trios. If you play with friends, everyone has to be within two ranks of each other; see ranked party rules.

Season 31 at the top: bans and Goliath matches

Season 31 changes the top of the ladder more than anywhere else, as EA's Ranked Roadmap of 20 October 2026 describes it:

  • Legend bans in every Diamond+ match. Each player requests one Legend, and bans are drawn at random weighted by the votes. At the end of Season 30 the top-100 Predators played Loba and Pathfinder most (apexlegendsstatus, community data), so expect them to attract votes. EA hadn't said how many Legends are banned per match.
  • Goliath matches. A squad two or more tiers above the lobby's median tier pays a higher entry; one two or more tiers below plays as a Challenger and pays less. Master and Predator squads in lobbies with a lower median will see the Goliath tag.
  • Three demotion shields appear when a single match could drop you a division, and you only drop once all three are used.
  • Loba portraitLoba
  • Pathfinder portraitPathfinder
  • Seer portraitSeer
  • Vantage portraitVantage

The practical answer is a pool of three Legends you trust. The whole list of Season 31 changes is in Season 31 ranked changes, and the data behind the picks in Season 31 legend picks.

Keeping it: split two and rewards

Master doesn't last a whole season. At split two EA's fixed table moves Master and Predator players to Platinum I rank iconPlatinum I at 11,000 RP, 5,000 RP below Master: one division to Diamond IV, then all four Diamond divisions again. Two rules soften that:

  • Rewards follow your best split. Reach Master in split one and the Master reward is yours even if split two ends lower.
  • The animated badge needs a repeat. "You'll get an animated version of the Season-end reward badge if you match the rank you achieved in the first split."

Then the season ends, and the next one places you from your hidden Ranked MMR. How both resets work is in ranked reset and split two.

Season 32: Masters IV–I and Grandmaster

EA's plan for early 2027 changes this whole page. Master becomes Masters with four divisions, a new Grandmaster tier sits above it, and "to earn a Predator badge, you will need to land yourself in the top 750 of Grandmaster". Diamond, Masters and Grandmaster form the Pro-Am League, with Drop Zone deployment, Legend bans and placement weighted higher. EA hasn't published RP values, the date, or whether Predator stays per platform. Everything announced is in the Season 32 overhaul.

Help on the way to Master, and why we don't sell Predator

We boost to Master, not to Predator. A top-750 place that keeps moving, and that someone else can take while you sleep, can't honestly be sold as a result. Master orders go to boosters who are Master or Apex Predator themselves, this season or last, on PC, and our pace in Diamond is about one division a day. Diamond IV to Master is $83.16 today, about 4 days; Platinum IV to Master $123.48; and Platinum I to Master, the climb back after split two, $93.24. All priced by the same engine as checkout. Apex Legends boosting isn't open for orders yet: get the launch alert on the Apex Legends page.

Know the rules first. EA's rules for Apex Legends call account sharing and paid levelling by third-party sellers unauthorized, with penalties up to closing the EA Account. Read our Risk Disclosure and is Apex boosting safe?, and if you'd rather earn Master yourself, coaching stays inside the rules.

  • To Master: Rank Boost, piloted or duo in your squad, by a Master+ booster.
  • Hold it yourself: coaching on endgame positioning, rotations and a ban-proof Legend pool.
  • A badge that stays: the 4K damage badge doesn't reset at split two.
Apex Legends boosting opens soon. Get the launch alert on the Apex Legends page. The service pages already show live prices for a rank boost (orders from $4.00) and coaching (from $16.90 an hour).
