- Planned for early 2027
- Iron replaces Rookie
- Emerald and Grandmaster added
- Weekly Ladders end
The biggest change to Apex Legends ranked in years isn't live yet. On 20 October 2026 EA published a Ranked Roadmap for Seasons 31 and 32, and the Season 32 half rebuilds the ladder from the bottom to the top: new tiers, a new top rank, two leagues with different rules and a new way of scoring every match. This guide sets out exactly what EA has announced, as of 2 November 2026, and is just as clear about what it hasn't. Everything here is a plan for "early 2027", not a rule you play under today; the current ladder is in our Apex ranks guide.
- Nine named tiers plus Predator: Iron, Bronze, Silver, Gold, Platinum, Emerald, Diamond, Masters and Grandmaster.
- Predator becomes a top-750 finish in Grandmaster, the new top tier.
- Pro-Am (Diamond and up) keeps Legend bans and drop zones and weights placement higher; the Open League weights kills higher.
- Every kill your team gets counts in full for everyone; assists and participation go, and entry cost rises per division.
- No RP numbers, date or rank mapping yet, so any "Emerald needs X RP" figure online is a guess.
What EA announced, and when
The source for everything on this page is one official post: EA's Apex Legends Ranked Roadmap (Seasons 31 and 32) of 20 October 2026, plus EA's 29 October Cipher post, which adds that Season 32 also brings Kings Canyon Evolved, a major map update. Season 31 "Cipher" (from 3 November 2026) is the stepping stone: it brings Legend bans to matches with Diamond or higher players, Challenger and Goliath entry costs and three visible demotion shields, all covered in Season 31 ranked changes. Season 32 is the rebuild. EA dates it only as early 2027. Apex seasons last "about three months", so that fits a season that follows Cipher, but EA hasn't given a day.
The new ladder: Iron to Grandmaster
Here's today's ladder next to the one EA has announced. Tiers that carry over keep their names; the new ones are marked:
| Today (Season 31) | Season 32 (announced) | What EA says |
|---|---|---|
| Predator badge | "To earn a Predator badge, you will need to land yourself in the top 750 of Grandmaster." | |
| none | Grandmaster (new) | The new top of the ladder. |
| Masters IV–I | Masters gets four divisions. | |
| Diamond | The first tier of the Pro-Am League. | |
| none | Emerald (new) | Between Platinum and Diamond, four divisions, a new badge and Aura support; the line between the Open and Pro-Am leagues. |
| Platinum | Carries over. | |
| Gold | Carries over. | |
| Silver | Carries over. | |
| Bronze | Carries over. | |
| Iron (replaces Rookie) | Iron "is treated as a standard rank for everyone". |
Two of these deserve a closer look. Iron isn't just Rookie renamed. Today Rookie is an introductory tier you can never return to once you leave it; EA describes Iron as a standard rank for everyone, which suggests anyone can land in it, though EA hasn't spelled out the details. Emerald lengthens the middle of the ladder by four divisions and gets its own badge and Aura. Neither Iron, Emerald nor Grandmaster has badge art yet, so we show them as text, not as invented icons.
Predator becomes a Grandmaster title
Today Apex Predator is the top 750 Masters on each platform, a live leaderboard you join and leave as the RP line moves. In Season 32 the top of the ladder is Grandmaster, and EA says the Predator badge goes to players who "land yourself in the top 750 of Grandmaster". Our Master and Predator guide covers how today's version works.
What the roadmap doesn't say is whether that top 750 stays per platform, as it is today, or how Grandmaster itself is reached. Until EA publishes the details, treat "Predator" in Season 32 as a top-750 finish inside Grandmaster and nothing more specific.
Open League and Pro-Am League
Season 32 splits the ladder in two, and the halves play by different rules:
Open League: Iron to Emerald
Every match starts in the Dropship. Kills are weighted slightly higher in the scoring, so fighting pays a little more here.
Pro-Am League: Diamond, Masters, Grandmaster
Matches use Drop Zone deployment and Legend banning, the two features Season 31 already brings to matches with Diamond+ players. Placement is weighted higher, so surviving to the end matters most.
Emerald is the gate between them: the last tier of the Open League, with Diamond the first of Pro-Am. EA's roadmap names Drop Zone deployment without describing it in detail; expect the Season 31 patch notes or a later post to explain it.
Wraith
Bloodhound
Gibraltar
Wattson
New scoring: flat RP, team kills, per-division entry
The scoring changes are as large as the ladder changes. Today a kill's value scales with your placement, assists count as kills and participation as half a kill (see Apex RP explained). EA's plan for Season 32:
| Today (Seasons 30–31) | Season 32 (announced) | |
|---|---|---|
| Kills and placement | Placement multiplies the value of each kill | Flat values "with no multiplier linking them" |
| Whose kills count | Your kills and assists in full, team kills you didn't damage as half | "Full kill RP for every kill your team earns"; assists and participation removed |
| Entry cost | Set per tier (0 to 90 RP), adjusted for Challenger and Goliath matches from Season 31 | Rises with every division, not every tier |
| League weighting | One system for every tier | Kills weighted slightly higher in Open, placement higher in Pro-Am |
Two things follow from that, even before the numbers are out. A squad earns kill RP together, so a Support who keeps the team alive gets full value for every kill the squad takes. And because entry cost will step up every division, the cost of a bad game will climb more smoothly through the ladder, rather than in jumps at each new tier.
Rewards in, Weekly Ladders out
EA's roadmap previews a refreshed set of ranked rewards for Season 32, naming Auras, Dive Trails, Epic and Legendary packs and promotion rewards, with Emerald getting Aura support of its own. It also ends a feature: "Weekly Ladders are going away as of S32." The weekly leaderboards, which score your five best RP results from Tuesday to Sunday against up to 100 players of similar hidden skill, have at most Season 31 left.
What isn't confirmed yet
The roadmap is a plan, and it leaves the numbers open. As of 2 November 2026 EA has not published:
- The date. Only "early 2027".
- RP values: how much RP each division takes, where Emerald, Masters IV or Grandmaster start, or the flat kill and placement values.
- Entry costs for each division.
- The reset mapping: how today's ranks translate onto the new ladder when Season 32 begins.
- Predator's scope: whether the top 750 of Grandmaster is counted per platform.
- Badge art for Iron, Emerald and Grandmaster, and whether Grandmaster has divisions.
Plans can also change before launch: EA tested and dropped two premade rules during 2026. We'll update this page when EA publishes the details and again at the Season 32 launch.
Getting ready, and what it means for orders
Until Season 32 arrives, the current ladder is the one that counts, and it's the one your Season 31 rewards follow. Three moves we'd make while you wait (our view, not EA's):
- Finish Season 31 as high as you can. Season rewards follow your best split, and it's the one result you fully control before the new ladder arrives.
- Build a Legend pool now. Bans already arrive in Season 31 for matches with Diamond+ players, and Pro-Am keeps them.
- Practise playing for placement. It's weighted higher in Pro-Am, and full team-kill RP rewards squads that stay alive together.
For our services the rule is simple: an order placed before Season 32 is finished on today's ladder, and we'll switch to the new ladder when EA ships it. Platinum IV to Master on the current ladder is $123.48 today, priced by the same engine as checkout. Apex Legends boosting isn't open for orders yet: get the launch alert on the Apex Legends page. Boosting conflicts with EA's rules, which call account sharing and paid levelling by third-party sellers unauthorized; read the Risk Disclosure and is Apex boosting safe? first. Coaching is the option that stays inside the rules.
- This season's rank: Rank Boost on today's ladder, Rookie IV to Master.
- Ready for Pro-Am: coaching on placement play and a ban-proof Legend pool.
- Something that survives any reset: the 20 kill badge on your banner.
