- Median: Gold Nova II
- MG I: top 32.4%
- Global Elite: 0.5%
- 540,000 players
Valve never publishes how many players hold each rank, so "is my Wingman rank good?" has no official answer. The best one comes from the biggest public sample: Leetify's Wingman table from September 2024, built from about 540,000 active Wingman players and published 18 October 2024 — still the newest per-rank Wingman distribution anyone has released. Below is every rank's share, the percentile it puts you in, how Wingman compares with the old 5v5 ladder, and what it takes to climb. Checked 2026-10-21.
- Wingman is bottom-heavy. More than a third of players are Silver — more than in the old CS:GO 5v5 ladder (29.0%).
- The busiest ranks are Silver Elite Master to Gold Nova III — each holds about 8% of players.
- The top thins out fast: 3.9% LEM, 2.0% Supreme, 0.5% Global Elite.
- These are tracker users. Leetify players skew active, so the real ladder is, if anything, a little lower.
CS2 Wingman rank distribution
Each bar is the share of active Wingman players in one of the 18 ranks, Silver I on the left to Global Elite on the right. The highlighted bar is the median, Gold Nova II:
Every Wingman rank with its percentile
| Rank | Share | At or above |
|---|---|---|
| Silver I S1 | 2.3% | top 100.0% |
| Silver II S2 | 6.1% | top 97.9% |
| Silver III S3 | 5.9% | top 91.8% |
| Silver IV S4 | 7.1% | top 85.9% |
| Silver Elite SE | 7.7% | top 78.8% |
| Silver Elite Master SEM | 7.8% | top 71.1% |
| Gold Nova I GN1 | 8.0% | top 63.3% |
| Gold Nova II GN2 | 7.9% | top 55.3% |
| Gold Nova III GN3 | 7.7% | top 47.4% |
| Gold Nova Master GNM | 7.3% | top 39.7% |
| Master Guardian I MG1 | 6.8% | top 32.4% |
| Master Guardian II MG2 | 6.0% | top 25.6% |
| Master Guardian Elite MGE | 5.3% | top 19.6% |
| Distinguished Master Guardian DMG | 4.4% | top 14.3% |
| Legendary Eagle LE | 3.5% | top 9.9% |
| Legendary Eagle Master LEM | 3.9% | top 6.4% |
| Supreme Master First Class SMFC | 2.0% | top 2.5% |
| The Global Elite GE | 0.5% | top 0.5% |
"At or above" adds up the shares from that rank to Global Elite; "better than" is everyone below. Leetify's published shares add up to 100.2% because of rounding, so the top row is capped at 100%. Your own rank, read the same way, is one click in the percentile calculator (Wingman tab).
What's a good Wingman rank?
- Gold Nova I — top 63.3%. You're out of Silver and above the bottom 36.7% of the ladder.
- Gold Nova II — the median. Half of all Wingman players are here or below.
- Master Guardian I — top 32.4%: a solidly above-average 2v2 player.
- Legendary Eagle — top 9.9%. Every player around you knows the small maps by heart.
- Supreme and Global Elite — together 2.5%. Global Elite alone is 0.5%.
The full ladder — what every badge looks like, how the 2v2 rank is earned and how long each step takes — is in CS2 Wingman ranks explained.
Wingman vs the old 5v5 ladder
Wingman uses the same 18 badge names as Competitive, so it's natural to compare. Leetify also published CS:GO's 5v5 matchmaking distribution (August 2023, 4,300,000 players); here the groups line up exactly:
| Group | Wingman (September 2024) | CS:GO 5v5 (August 2023) |
|---|---|---|
| Silver I – Silver Elite Master | 36.9% | 29.0% |
| Gold Nova I – Gold Nova Master | 30.9% | 33.6% |
| Master Guardian I – Master Guardian Elite | 18.1% | 21.2% |
| Distinguished Master Guardian – Legendary Eagle Master | 11.8% | 12.4% |
| Supreme Master First Class | 2.0% | 2.6% |
| The Global Elite | 0.5% | 1.2% |
Wingman has more Silvers and fewer Global Elites than the old 5v5 ladder. Our read, not Leetify's: 2v2 draws more newer and casual players — it needs only one friend and the matches are shorter — so its bottom end is fuller. The CS2 Premier distribution, with its CS Rating colours, is in the CS2 rank distribution, and the old badges as Premier numbers in CS:GO ranks vs Premier.
Climbing the Wingman ladder
Because the middle ranks are crowded, the jump from Gold Nova to Master Guardian means passing about 30.9% of the playerbase. Shorter matches help, and so does a fixed partner who knows your calls. If you'd rather skip the grind, these are our booster climbs, priced and timed live:
| Climb | Price | Standard | Express |
|---|---|---|---|
| Silver I → Gold Nova Master | $45.90 | 4–5 days | 2–3 days |
| Gold Nova I → MG Elite | $39.50 | about 3 days | 1–2 days |
| Master Guardian I → Legendary Eagle | $32.95 | about 2 days | about 30 hours |
| Distinguished MG → Supreme Master | $31.60 | about 36 hours | about 22 hours |
| LE Master → Global Elite | $29.60 | about 24 hours | about 15 hours |

How reliable is this data?
- It's a sample, not a census. Leetify counts players who use its tracker — typically more active and more improvement-minded than average.
- It's from September 2024. No newer per-rank Wingman table has been published (checked 2026-10-21), so the shape is still the best guide — exact shares will have drifted since.
- Valve publishes nothing. Any site quoting "official" Wingman percentages is quoting a sample like this one.
- Leetify — CS2 Rank Distribution (Wingman, September 2024) — 540,000 players, published 18 October 2024; the same post's CS:GO 5v5 table (August 2023).
