How to Become a Dota 2 Booster (2026): Requirements and Pay

What it takes to boost Dota 2 with us: the medal each order needs, the proof, the setup, live payout examples, the 70 to 90% share, payouts and the rules, Valve's included.

Updated 2026-11-02 · 9 min read · by the BoostPirate crew
  • Divine+ to start
  • Immortal for top orders
  • Keep 70–90%
  • Weekly payouts

BoostPirate will pay high-ranked Dota 2 players to climb, play calibration games, win ranked games, clear Low Priority and coach — in every position, on Steam. This guide explains which medal opens which jobs, the proof we ask for, the setup the work needs, what the jobs pay (the table comes straight from the price engine), how the 70%-to-90% share works and when the money arrives — and the rules that come with the work, Valve's included.

Short answer: you need Divine or Immortal on your own account for orders up to Legend, and Immortal for Ancient and Divine orders, proven with a Dotabuff, OpenDota or STRATZ profile link or a screenshot of your medal. You play on Steam, appear offline, with a VPN to the customer's region, and never use cheats, scripts or low-population server tricks. You keep 70% of every order from day one and climb to 90% with clean completions; earnings are paid weekly after the customer approves. Applications are reviewed by hand, usually within about 24 hours — and Dota 2 applications open when Dota 2 boosting launches.
Key takeaways
  • The medal decides the board: Divine or Immortal to start, Immortal for Ancient and Divine orders.
  • Proof: a Dotabuff, OpenDota or STRATZ profile, or a medal screenshot — the screenshot above 8,500 MMR, where Immortal Draft games don't reach those sites.
  • Steam, a VPN to the customer's region, appear offline — and never cheats, scripts or low-population servers.
  • 70% to 90% of each order, weekly payouts, a one-time ID check before the first withdrawal.
  • Know the rules: the Steam Subscriber Agreement forbids sharing or selling account access, and Valve bans smurfs; coaching is the lowest-risk work.

What you need to be accepted

We recruit on medal, proof and reliability. These are the requirements on our Dota 2 recruiting page:

  • A high medal you can prove. Divine or Immortal on your main account — Immortal for Ancient and Divine orders. A Dotabuff, OpenDota or STRATZ profile link, or a screenshot of your medal, is the proof.
  • Every position. Customers ask for a position and heroes; the more you can play at a high level, the more orders you can take.
  • A VPN and a clean record. Orders are played with a VPN to the customer's region, appear offline, on the customer's own region's servers. No cheats, no scripts, no low-population server tricks — ever.
  • 18+ and a one-time ID check. Done once, before your first withdrawal — never before you can claim jobs.

Proof means a public profile link — accepted from dotabuff.com · opendota.com · stratz.com — or a link to a screenshot of your medal. One Dota-specific catch: since 19 March 2025 Valve hides Immortal Draft games, which every ranked game above 8,500 MMR is, from public match history and its Web APIs, so those sites can't see them. If you play at that level, send the screenshot. Make the profile public before you apply, so the review doesn't stall on a private match history.

Which medal opens which jobs

We approve each booster for the orders their proven medal covers, and the job board shows you those. The rule our recruiting and service pages set today: Divine or Immortal for orders up to Legend; Immortal for Ancient and Divine orders.

OrdersYour medal
Up to Legend — MMR boosts, calibration games and ranked wins at Herald to LegendDivine rank iconDivine or Immortal rank iconImmortal
Ancient and Divine orders, Divine 5 → Immortal includedImmortal rank iconImmortal
Low Priority games — Single Draft, won on the customer's accountAny approved booster (Divine rank iconDivine or above)
Coaching — customers book an Immortal coachImmortal rank iconImmortal

The gates sit well above the orders for a reason: the ladder slows sharply at the top. Our delivery estimates assume a booster climbs 1.8 Legend stars a day, 1.4 in Ancient and only 0.8 of a Divine star — you have to win those games reliably, not occasionally. Positions matter as much as the medal: ranked is queued by position and customers ask for one, so a booster who plays carry, mid and support well sees far more of the board.

How to apply, step by step

  1. Create a free account

No fee, no deposit and no trial purchase — ever.

  2. Open the booster application and tick Dota 2

Set your medal, and name the positions you play best in your intro.

  3. Link your proof

A public Dotabuff, OpenDota or STRATZ profile, or a link to a screenshot of your medal.

  4. Add your Discord handle and a short intro

Approved boosters join the Verified Boosters server, where job alerts land first.

  5. Wait for the hand review

Usually within about 24 hours. Borderline cases may be asked for more proof.

The jobs on the Dota 2 board

Five kinds of order reach the board — MMR boosts, calibration games, ranked wins, Low Priority games and coaching — and each card says how it's played:

Piloted — on the customer's account

MMR boosts from Herald 1 to Immortal, calibration games, ranked wins and every Low Priority order. You sign in after the customer approves it with Steam Guard, play appear-offline in the position they picked, and post a screenshot after every session in the order chat.

Duo — from your own account

Any MMR boost, calibration or wins order where the customer picked duo: you queue in their party while they play. Valve caps the MMR gap in a ranked party, a party with an Immortal plays at the Immortal's rank, and above 8,500 MMR ranked is solo only — so you duo from an account inside those limits, below 8,500, and never from a smurf.

Coaching — on a call

Hourly sessions: live games on voice or a review of the customer's replays, covering laning, farm, map awareness, drafting and their position. Nothing touches anyone's account.

The setup the work needs

  • PC and Steam. Dota 2 orders are played on the customer's Steam account, or from your own on duo.
  • A VPN to the customer's region. Dota lets a player queue up to three matchmaking regions; you queue the same regions, from there or with a VPN to them.
  • Appear offline on every piloted order, with human pacing.
  • The customer approves your sign-in. Steam Guard asks for a one-time code or an approval in the Steam Mobile app; ask for it in the order chat, never anywhere else.
  • No cheats, no scripts, no low-population server tricks — ever. On an order, the account at risk is the customer's.

What Dota 2 jobs pay — live examples

The table comes from the same price engine customers pay through, so it shows today's payout for a newly verified booster, not a marketing figure.

OrderCustomer paysYour payoutDelivery estimate
MMR boost · Crusader 1 → Archon 1$21.50$15.05 (70%)≈ 2 days
MMR boost · Legend 1 → Ancient 1$32.50$22.75 (70%)≈ 3 days

"Customer pays" is our regular list price before add-ons. During a sale customers pay less and your payout is unchanged — the discount comes out of BoostPirate's share. Add-ons the customer picks, such as duo or express, raise the order value and your cut with it.

Your share rises with clean completions, and every job card already shows the share you're on:

When and how you are paid

Your earning for an order is credited when the customer approves the result, or automatically when the 72-hour approval window runs out. It then clears a 7-day hold — the window in which a refund or dispute could still touch it — and counts toward the weekly payout, paid from $20.00. The one-time identity check (you must be 18 or over) happens before your first withdrawal, never before you can claim jobs.

The rules you play by

Be clear-eyed about this before you apply. The Steam Subscriber Agreement (last updated 10 September 2026) says "You may not reveal, share or otherwise allow others to use your password or Account", that "you may not sell or charge others for the right to use your Account", and that Valve "may restrict or terminate your Account(s)" for any conduct or activity. Valve has acted on it: its update of 14 December 2023 listed "For accounts shared with other users or services: a game ban". And on 1 September 2023 it "permanently banned 90,000 smurf accounts", traced "every single one of these smurf accounts back to its main account", and punished those mains "from temporary adjustments to behavior scores to permanent account bans" — which is why a duo account must never be a smurf. Your own Steam account can be actioned, not only the customer's. Our rules sit on top:

  • No cheats, scripts or third-party software, ever — and you're off the platform if you use them.
  • The position the customer bought: queue it and play the heroes they named where the draft allows.
  • Duo inside Valve's party limits, from your own main account, below 8,500 MMR.
  • The login is the customer's: never saved, never shared, never used outside the order.
  • Proof after every session, and finish what you claim — customers rate pace, proof and communication.

Coaching jobs carry the least risk of all, because nobody's account is played. Read our Risk Disclosure and is Dota 2 boosting bannable? before you apply.

FAQ

Common questions

What medal do I need to boost Dota 2?
Divine or Immortal on your own account for orders up to Legend, and Immortal for Ancient and Divine orders. A Dotabuff, OpenDota or STRATZ profile link, or a screenshot of your medal, is the proof.
How much do Dota 2 boosters earn?
You keep 70% of each order from day one and climb to 90% with clean completions, paid weekly with no fees. The payout table on this page comes from the live price engine, so it shows what a newly verified booster is paid today.
Piloted or duo?
Both. Piloted orders are played on the customer's account, appear offline, with a VPN to their region. Duo orders are played from an account of yours inside Valve's party limits (an MMR-gap cap; a party with an Immortal plays at the Immortal's rank), below 8,500 MMR, and never from a smurf.
When do Dota 2 booster applications open?
Together with Dota 2 boosting: applications open when the game opens for orders, and the recruiting page and the Dota 2 hub offer a launch alert until then. The application is free and reviewed by hand, usually within about 24 hours.
