WoW Mythic+ Guide: Midnight Season 2 Keys, Rating and Rewards (2026)

Midnight Season 2 Mythic+ explained: the eight-dungeon pool, how keys upgrade and deplete, what every key level drops at the end and in the Great Vault, and the rating rewards from Keystone Conqueror to Keystone Myth.

Updated 2026-10-31 · 9 min read · by the BoostPirate crew
  • 8 dungeons in Season 2
  • +10 vault: item level 318
  • Keystone Master at 2,000
  • Keystone Myth at 3,600

Mythic+ is where many World of Warcraft players spend their week in Midnight: a five-player dungeon on a timer, a keystone that sets how hard it is, and loot that climbs with the key level. This guide covers Midnight Season 2 as it stands on 31 October 2026 — the eight dungeons in the pool, how keys go up and down, what every key level drops at the end and in the Great Vault, and the rating milestones from Keystone Conqueror to the new Keystone Myth.

Short answer: Season 2 opened on 18 August 2026 in the Americas (19 August 2026 in Europe) with eight dungeons: five from Midnight and three returning ones. Time a key and it goes up a level or more; miss the timer and it drops one. The number most players chase is +10: it drops item level 311 at the end and puts a 318 item in your Great Vault, and timing it unlocks that dungeon's teleport. Rating rewards arrive at 1,500, 2,000 (Keystone Master), 2,500, 3,000 (Keystone Legend) and, since patch 12.1.5, 3,600 (Keystone Myth).
Key takeaways
  • The pool: Altar of Fangs (new), Murder Row, Den of Nalorakk, The Blinding Vale, Voidscar Arena, Ruby Life Pools, Kings' Rest and Temple of Sethraliss.
  • +10 is the gearing line: Hero 3/6 (311) from the chest, Myth 1/6 (318) from the vault and Myth Mistcrests from +9 up.
  • The vault's dungeon row opens a slot at 1, 4 and 8 runs — and each slot is set by the lowest run it counts.
  • Mounts at 2,000 and 3,000 rating — Breath of Blight and Breath of Ruin; the 3,600 Keystone Myth title came with 12.1.5.
  • From +12 a death costs 15 seconds of the timer, so clean play matters more than raw damage at the top.

The Season 2 dungeon pool

Blizzard rotated the pool for Season 2: five Midnight dungeons — among them Altar of Fangs, which arrived with patch 12.1 under the Coiled Isle, the same island as the season's raid — and three returning ones from Dragonflight and Battle for Azeroth. The same eight run on Heroic and Mythic 0, and Mythic 0 now resets daily, so you can learn a route there before you put a key in.

Time any of the eight at +10 or higher and you earn its teleport — worth having for all eight before you start pushing, because it turns a long flight into a click.

How keystones work

A keystone names a dungeon and a level. Finish inside the timer and the key upgrades: +1 for a timed run, +2 with more than 20% of the time left and +3 with more than 40% left. Finish over time and the run still counts, but the key drops a level. Higher levels add enemy health and damage, and the affixes stack on top:

+7 and +10

Fortified (tougher trash) or Tyrannical (tougher bosses) joins at +7, rotating each week. From +10 both are active at once, so every pull and every boss gets harder together.

+12 and up

A final affix replaces the weekly one that runs on lower keys and raises the death penalty: from +12 each death takes 15 seconds off the clock. Groups that push here play safe first and fast second.

Midnight Season 2 Mythic+ ladder: end-of-run and Great Vault item levels by key level — Mythic 0 292 and 302, +2 and +3 295 and 305, +4 298 and 308, +5 302 and 308, +6 305 and 311, +7 305 and 315, +8 308 and 315, +9 308 and 315, +10 and up 311 and 318 — with the crest each level drops and the rating rewards at 1,500, 2,000, 2,500, 3,000 and 3,600

What each key level drops

The end-of-dungeon chest and the Great Vault use the same tracks but different steps. The chest tops out at 311 (Hero 3/6) from +10; going higher earns more rating and more crests, not better chest loot. The vault slot for the same key is always a step or two higher.

Crests are what turn drops into upgrades: Champion Mistcrests come from Mythic 0, +2 and +3, Hero Mistcrests from +4 to +8 and Myth Mistcrests from +9 up. Every upgrade costs 20 crests of the item's track — the Midnight gearing guide walks through the full upgrade path.

The Great Vault's dungeon row

The vault is the most reliable Mythic+ reward. Its dungeon row opens one slot after 1 run, a second after 4 and a third after 8 — Heroic, Mythic and Timewalking dungeons all count. When a slot needs several runs, its item level comes from the lowest of them: slot two is set by your fourth-best run of the week, slot three by your eighth-best. Eight +10s fill all three slots at 318; a week of seven +10s and one +2 leaves the third slot at 305.

You take one item from the whole vault each week. If nothing fits, you can take Thalassian Tokens of Merit or a Nebulous Voidcore — the bonus-roll currency for raid bosses, keys, Bountiful Delves and Nightmare Prey — instead; the full exchange needs at least three slots open.

Mythic+ rating and the Season 2 rewards

Your rating is built from your best result in each dungeon of the pool, so the fastest climb is to raise all eight together rather than farm one. The milestones for Season 2:

RatingAchievementReward
1,500Keystone Conquerorthe title “the Venomous”
2,000Keystone Masterthe Breath of Blight mount
2,500Keystone Herothe Sssensational! feat — an upgraded look for your tier set
3,000Keystone Legendthe Breath of Ruin mount
3,600Keystone Myththe title “the Venomous Contender” and the Timelost Saddle (added in 12.1.5)

At the end of the season the top 1% of each region earn the Venomous Champion feat and the top 0.1% the title “the Venomous Hero”. Keystone Master at 2,000 also counts toward the season's Serpent Scion feat, the same one Heroic Ula'tek or 1,600 PvP rating gives.

How to push your rating

  1. Time all eight at +10 first.

That unlocks every teleport, fills your vault at 318 and gives you a rating base in every dungeon.

  2. Learn one route per dungeon.

Use Mythic 0 and low keys to fix your pulls; the same route on a higher key just has less room for error.

  3. Push your lowest dungeon, not your favourite.

Rating counts each dungeon once — the weak one is the cheap points.

  4. Plan the deaths away at +12.

Fifteen seconds per death adds up fast; defensives and interrupts win more keys than damage.

  5. Play with a steady group.

Voice, a fixed route and known cooldowns time keys that pick-up groups deplete.

Help with keys and rating

  • Learn it yourself: 1-on-1 coaching with a high-rating player — routes, cooldown plans and a review of your own runs. Nobody logs into your account.
  • One key or many: Mythic+ keys at the level you pick, with you in the group.
  • A rating target: Mythic+ rating to Keystone Master, Hero, Legend or Myth.

FAQ

Common questions

Which dungeons are in Mythic+ in Midnight Season 2?
Eight: Altar of Fangs (new in patch 12.1), Murder Row, Den of Nalorakk, The Blinding Vale and Voidscar Arena from Midnight, plus Ruby Life Pools, Kings' Rest and Temple of Sethraliss.
What item level does a +10 give in Season 2?
Item level 311 (Hero 3/6) from the end-of-dungeon chest and 318 (Myth 1/6) from the Great Vault. Higher keys give the same chest loot but more crests and rating; Myth Mistcrests start at +9.
What rating do you need for Keystone Master in Season 2?
2,000 Mythic+ rating, which also awards the Breath of Blight mount. Keystone Hero is 2,500, Keystone Legend 3,000 (the Breath of Ruin mount) and Keystone Myth 3,600, added with patch 12.1.5.
How does the Great Vault work for Mythic+?
The dungeon row opens a slot after 1, 4 and 8 Heroic, Mythic or Timewalking runs in a week. Each slot uses the lowest run it counts, so eight timed +10s give three choices at item level 318; you take one item.
