What does the next dodge cost?
Penalties from Riot's official League of Legends wiki, read 2026-10-09: 1st dodge −5 LP / 6 min, 2nd −15 LP / 30 min, 3rd+ −15 LP / 12 h; apex tiers −20 LP on the first and, since patch 26.9, a dodge counts as a full loss there. Dodge LP never demotes and stacks to at most −100 LP.
How dodge penalties work
Each dodge within 24 hours of the previous penalty moves you up a tier: the first costs 5 LP and a 6-minute lockout, the second 15 LP and 30 minutes, the third and every later one 15 LP and twelve hours. One tier drops off every 24 hours without a dodge, and the counter is shared across queues — a Normal dodge followed by a Ranked dodge is already a second-tier penalty. Letting the champion-select timer run out counts as a dodge too.
Below Master the penalty is LP and time only: hidden MMR is untouched, which is why experienced players treat a 5-LP dodge as cheap insurance against a hopeless draft. On the apex ladder that discount is gone — the first dodge costs 20 LP and since patch 26.9 counts as a full loss, MMR included. Dodge LP can take you to 0 but never through a demotion. Not below Master: dodging only costs the LP and the lockout, which is why high-elo players dodge bad lobbies. On the apex ladder a dodge now counts as a loss, so the discount is gone there.
Can a dodge demote me?
No. Dodge penalties can take you to 0 LP but never through a demotion, and the stacked penalty is capped at −100 LP.
