How likely is your streak?
Pure probability: the chance of at least one run of that many wins (or losses) somewhere in your games, worked out exactly with a dynamic programme, not simulated. It assumes each game is independent and won at your win rate — real games aren't quite (tilt, duo partners and MMR swings all nudge the odds), so treat it as the baseline luck alone produces. Why streaks happen to everyone
Streaks feel personal, but they're what chance looks like. Flip a fair coin 100 times and you'll almost certainly see four or five of the same side in a row; at a 50% win rate, League is that coin. The table above shows it at your numbers: at 50% over 100 games a five-game losing streak turns up about four times in five, and the longest losing run you should expect is about six. A better win rate shortens the losing runs and lengthens the winning ones — that's the only lever there is.
Riot has said plainly that there is no "losers' queue": Losers queue doesn't exist
— Riot Phroxzon, League of Legends lead gameplay designer,

wins pay more and losses cost less, and a losing run does the opposite. The
loss-streak guide covers what to do about one, and the
LP gain checker shows whether your MMR has slipped below your rank.

Common questions
Is a 5-game losing streak normal in LoL?
Yes. For a player who wins exactly half their games, the chance of losing five in a row at least once in 100 games is about 81% — and still 64.7% at a 55% win rate. Over a season of a few hundred games, streaks of six or seven happen to most players without anything being wrong.
Is there a losers' queue in League of Legends?
Riot says no — "Losers queue doesn't exist" (Riot Phroxzon, League of Legends lead gameplay designer, on X, 11 February 2024). Matchmaking aims for even games around your MMR; streaks are what independent coin-flips look like, and this calculator shows how often they appear by pure chance.
Should I stop playing after a loss streak?
Many players use a stop rule — two losses in a row and you take a break — because tilt makes the next game worse, not because the queue is rigged. The maths here assumes every game is independent; if you play worse when frustrated, your real odds are worse than the calculator's.
What does a win streak do to my LP?
Riot says that if you win enough, your LP rewards grow: your hidden MMR climbs above your rank, so each win pays more and each loss costs less until your rank catches up.
