Your game, by the numbers
Lane minions are counted the way the official wiki lists the waves: every 30 seconds from 0:30, every 25 seconds from 14:00 and every 20 seconds from 30:00, three melee and three casters, a cannon on wave 3 and then every third wave (every second after 14:00, every wave from 25:00). It counts every minion that has spawned — the newest waves are still walking to lane — and leaves out jungle camps and super minions, which the in-game CS counter includes. KDA = (kills + assists) ÷ deaths, with zero deaths counted as one. Checked 2026-10-24.
Lane minions by minute
Every lane gets the same waves, so these are the most minions a laner can farm — before jungle camps — at each mark.
| Game time | Waves spawned | Cannons | Lane minions | Per minute |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| 10:00 | 20 | 6 | 126 | 12.6 |
| 15:00 | 30 | 10 | 189 | 12.6 |
| 20:00 | 42 | 16 | 261 | 13.1 |
| 25:00 | 54 | 22 | 333 | 13.3 |
| 30:00 | 66 | 34 | 405 | 13.5 |
The first wave leaves the base at 0:30 and still has to walk to lane, so a perfect laner's CS trails these totals by a wave or two. That gap is why 10 CS a minute is treated as excellent farming.
What the numbers tell you
CS per minute is your income. A cannon is worth several melee minions and every wave you miss is gold the enemy laner isn't missing, so most players gain more from farming better than from fighting more. The share figure is the honest version: it compares you with what your lane actually offered by that minute. KDA rewards staying alive — a death costs your lane a wave or two of farm and hands the enemy gold — and kill participation shows whether you were where the fights were: junglers and supports usually sit well above laners. The CS per minute guide has the drills; the wave management guide explains how to stop losing waves to roams and recalls.

FAQ
Common questions
What is a good CS per minute in LoL?
A lane spawns 126 minions by 10:00 — 12.6 a minute if you could last-hit every one the moment it spawned, which nobody can because each wave still has to walk to lane. That's why 10 CS a minute is treated as near-perfect farming, and why every extra CS a minute is worth chasing: the calculator shows what share of your lane's minions you actually took.
How many minions spawn in a lane by 10, 15 and 20 minutes?
126 by 10:00 (20 waves, 6 cannons), 189 by 15:00 and 261 by 20:00 — waves every 30 seconds from 0:30, every 25 seconds from 14:00, with a cannon every third wave and every second wave after 14:00 (official wiki, patch 26.1's 0:30 first wave).
How is KDA calculated?
KDA = (kills + assists) ÷ deaths, and with zero deaths you divide by one — a 'perfect' KDA. Kill participation is (kills + assists) ÷ your team's kills: it shows how much of your team's fighting you were part of.
Do jungle camps count towards CS?
Yes — the in-game CS counter includes monsters, so a laner who takes camps can beat the lane-only figures here. The comparison uses lane minions only, the one number every laner has the same access to.
