LoL duo checker

Riot only lets players close in rank queue Solo/Duo together, and the window narrows the higher you go. Pick both ranks: the checker applies Riot's table from both sides, adds the Master, Korea and Flex rules, and tells you which one decides.

Can you two queue together?

You Gold rank emblem
Your friend Platinum rank emblem
Yes, you can Both of you fit each other's duo window.
  • Anyone with Master-or-higher hidden MMR plays Solo/Duo alone, whatever their visible rank.

Your window: Silver – Platinum — your friend fits

Your friend's window: Gold – Emerald — you fit

Riot Support, "Ranked Tiers, Divisions, and Queues" (7 May 2026) and patch 26.15 (Master duo back), checked 2026-10-16. The checker reads Riot's table from both sides — a pair has to fit both windows. It can't see hidden MMR: from Emerald to Diamond II nobody can duo with a Master-MMR player, and anyone with Master-or-higher MMR plays alone. Where Riot's table and its "within two divisions" note for Diamond disagree, it says so.

How duo limits work in LoL ranked

Riot keeps Solo/Duo fair by only letting players close in rank queue together. Low on the ladder the window is wide — Iron and Bronze can play with anyone up to Silver — and it narrows as you climb: from Diamond your partner has to be within two divisions, Diamond I only takes Masters under 200 LP, Masters duo with Masters within 400 LP, and Grandmaster and Challenger play alone. Both players' windows apply at once, which is why a pair can work from one side and fail from the other.

Flex is looser: no rank limits for Diamond and below, parties of 1, 2, 3 or 5 (a party of four can only play unranked), and you need to be at least Emerald to party with Master+ players. Riot also says premade games bring slightly more difficult opponents or smaller LP gains — the duo queue guide covers that and what it means for a duo boost.

  • Players with Grandmaster or Challenger MMR can't duo, whatever their visible rank.
  • Korea: players can't queue with Master or higher tiers.
  • Master duo returned in patch 26.15 (29 July 2026) after a period without it.
  • No Flex rank restrictions for Diamond and below; to play with Master+ players you must be at least Emerald.

Common questions

Who can I duo with in LoL ranked?

Riot's Solo/Duo windows (Riot Support, checked 2026-10-16) — Iron: Iron – Silver; Bronze: Iron – Silver; Silver: Iron – Gold; Gold: Silver – Platinum; Platinum: Gold – Emerald; Emerald: Platinum – Diamond III; Diamond IV – II: Emerald II – Diamond II; Diamond I: Diamond III – Master players under 200 LP; Master: Diamond I (if you're under 200 LP) – Master players within 400 LP of you; Grandmaster / Challenger: no duo. Both players have to fit each other's window, so a pair can be blocked by the stricter of the two.

Can Gold and Emerald players duo?

Not in Solo/Duo: Gold's window stops at Platinum, so a Gold player can't queue with an Emerald. They can play Flex together — Flex has no rank limits for Diamond and below.

Why can't I duo with my friend in Diamond?

Three rules sit on top of the visible ranks: from Emerald to Diamond II you can't duo with a player whose hidden MMR is Master-level, Diamond I only takes Masters under 200 LP, and Riot's page says Diamond partners must be within two divisions. Anyone with Master-or-higher MMR plays Solo/Duo alone.

Can a party of four play ranked Flex?

No. Flex parties are 1, 2, 3 or 5 players; a party of four can only queue unranked. To party with a Master or higher player in Flex you need to be at least Emerald.
