Where do you rank?
"Top X%" is the share of ranked players at or above your division. Data: League of Graphs rank distribution (Riot API, all regions, Ranked Solo/Duo, patch 26.20), read 2026-10-09. It counts accounts that hold a rank this season — the active ranked population, not every account ever made.
How the percentile is worked out
League of Graphs publishes the share of ranked players in every division. We add up the shares from your division upward: Gold IV counts Gold IV itself plus everything above it, which is why it reads "top 60%" even though half the ladder sits below Gold. The median player on this sample is Gold III; Gold is the biggest tier at about 23.0% of players, Silver and Platinum follow, and Diamond or higher is under 5%.
Two things worth knowing before you compare: the 2026 annual reset drops every account by at least four divisions and Riot adjusted the Iron thresholds, so Iron is far smaller than it was in 2025 (under 4% against 14–20% a year earlier); and the sample is the active ladder on patch 26.20, which shifts a little after every reset. The rank distribution guide has the full history.

Common questions
What is the average rank in League of Legends?
On the October 2026 League of Graphs sample (patch 26.20, all regions) the median solo-queue player sits in Gold III: roughly half of ranked players are Gold IV or below and half are Gold III or above. Gold is also the single largest tier at about 23% of players, followed by Silver (21%) and Platinum (18%).
What percentage of players are Diamond or higher?
About 4.8%: Diamond holds roughly 4% of ranked players, Master 0.8%, Grandmaster 0.05% and Challenger 0.02%. Emerald IV already puts you in the top 18%.
Why is Iron so small now?
Riot adjusted the Iron thresholds and compressed the ladder for the 2026 cycle, and the annual reset places most accounts higher than a brand-new one. Iron was 14–20% of players through 2025; on the current sample it is under 4%.
Where does the data come from?
League of Graphs reads ranked ladders through Riot's API across all regions — the October 2026 sample covers about 16.9 million ranked accounts. It counts players who have a rank this season, so it is a picture of the active ranked population, not of every account that exists.
